Biography

tumblr_inline_mzyi2ijxU81st17vy.gif Foyada
Occupation: Historian
Allegiance: Earth
Mate: None

Foyada is a strange girl, her nose always in a book and her head in the clouds.

The daughter of a warrior-poet, she spent most of her childhood at her mother’s feet, listening to her weave tales of her exploits and the stories behind the many lands she walked, from the explosive end of the menfolk during the Second Age to the lore of the Hewn City and the clan wars of the Scarred Wasteland. She talked of crazy battles of elemental dominance wherein dragons fought until they could not lift their bodies from the ground, the outcomes decided by one dragon alone.

All this lore stuck to her, the “memories of the land,” as she came to call them. History sang to her like a siren, and she answered its call with all the enthusiasm of a misguided sailor. Packing up her books and gear, she set out to venture far from home, out into the grand world of Sornieth that her mother had told her of, to the buried settlements in the Abiding Boneyard to the Observatory, towering high over Starfall Isles and older than dragonkind. She lived among the centaurs in the Southern Icefields, and spoke to befuddled Maren about their murals and cities on the edges of the Sea. She even sought to speak to the Gladekeeper about life after the fall of the Second Age, but the goddess didn’t seem too terribly open to casual conversation.

Although she is physically quite slow, plodding along as though she has no care in the world, Foyada is a quick-witted lady with an impressive amount of knowledge and know-how. She is quite well-versed on the Beast Clan equivalent of “street smarts,” as well as a shrewd negotiator and a powerful speaker, eloquent and strong-willed and capable of giving stories a voice, a life.

Above all else, she values intellect and knowledge, though she is careful to stay humble. Any who find her bent over her books can rest assured that all it takes is an innocent question, a little curiosity, and Foyada will be more than happy to teach them all that she knows.
