Odette has always been a curiosity to outsiders. Why would such a normal seeming dragon become a shade worshipper? Why pursue a relationship with the likes of Grimm and Ashley? Why, after so many years of sitting peacefully by with your partners, suddenly decide to nest with them?

Why indeed.

Odette didn't have the answers. She lived her life as bartender, soul singer, shade worshipper. If not for that last point she would always go quietly by, unnoticed. She was generally liked by others, she got along well with society, if she so wanted she could put it all behind her and move on to live a normal, unassuming life.

But maybe that's exactly what she didn't want.

She was happy with her partners, begrudgingly put up with Bezeal and Allosis, was content in her life as a whole. And once Bezeal announced he had his "chosen" child, well, maybe she realized she wanted hatchlings of her own.

One nest. That's what she promised her partners.

She just hoped that her children would be blessed with lives they enjoyed, just like their mother. That's all she could ask for them.
