Ashley was never the prettiest dragon.

He wasn’t ugly, but he wasn’t like his brothers, who both had beautiful light blue and purple scales and coordinated wings. (He would forever spite Marcius for his delicate, icy colored wings that matched his scales. Ashley knew Marcius was always their parents' favorite.) He certainly stood out next to them. Splotchy coral, pink, and dull blue accented with muted grey wings made him the “black sheep” of the family. (Yes, he looked like his mother. But she had such lovely wings, and he could never call his mother ugly. He’s not a monster.)

And then there was his name. He named himself, of course, because his original name reminded him of his pretty, refined brothers. Ashley was a weird name for a boy. It was different. He liked being different.

So of course he left his birth clan. He had to.

He kind of just stumbled on the Mystified Fireflies. But, hey, when life gives you lemons. Or in this case, a small group of pooossible cultists living within his new clan. Ashley may or may not have joined them. (You can’t blame him, they’re pretty cute. In a weird. Shade worshipping way.)

But it also could be contributed to the more… defining points of his personality. Ashley loves teeth and skulls. Like. A lot. He hordes them, and sometimes strings them together into weird rattling jewelry that he uses to scare hatchlings. (He’s not allowed near the nests anymore.) He also likes to show his fangs off as much as possible. (Personally sharpened. Yes, an insectivore needs razor sharp canines. Don’t question him.)

Ashley is also the type to enjoy dark humor. He can sometimes be prone to angry outbursts and has a huge protective streak for his fellow cult members. He’s at every one of Odette’s shows, and assists Grimm with their duties. Bezeal doesn’t despise him, and that’s as good as he’ll get.

But the little Fae does have some good points! If he likes you, you're certain to have a loyal, compassionate friend. And he's surprisingly gentle with animals, occasionally sneaking out to nature watch. (As long as no one knows, he has a reputation to uphold, after all.)

He would definately make his family proud if they saw him now.
