Gender: Female Role: Rose protects and maintains The Heartforge, a reservoir of fire, lava, and elemental energy that flows throughout the island caves to heat and provide light to the Colony. She has spent so much time with it, it has marked her with ash and molten gold. Relationships: Greyhelm: Greyhelm is Rose's mate. She fell in love with both him and his creations. Rose tries to get him to stray a bit further from his comfort zone and grows some confidence as well. They work side-by-side in the Heartforge and can talk for hours on end. |
Personality: Rose is a tough dragon, who is dedicated to her work. The Heartforge is her charge, and she defends it with vigilance and yet also a gentle hand. She can often be caught talking to it with a soothing voice. Despite her seemingly stern personality, she is actually very friendly and a little lonely. She welcomes others into the Heart Chamber, and is always open for chatting. She actually has good advice on a multitude of topics. Facts: - She isn't bothered too much by spicy foods. Her mate on the other hand... - One of her most favorite creations by Greyhelm, is a heart-shaped portrait of the two of them together, that he made her. Made with both his mediums of metal and wood, and encrusted with beautiful stones. Rose hung it over their beds. -The molten gold on Rose's body feels warm to the touch. It heats up to scalding temperatures when she feels strong emotions like fear, anger, and embarrassment. |

History: It is said that when Rose hatched, The Heartforge was at its hottest and brightest. No one knows for sure if it is true, as the colony hadn't settled yet, but it is believable. Rose had come from a clan in the Dragonhome, Rose was unusual for an earth dragon. She seemed drawn to fire. She would watch the blacksmiths work, batting at sparks and embers as they flew. Growing up, she spent her time learning fire magic alongside her earth magic. When she was older, she set out to find her charge, bidding her clan farewell. Her wings took her far over the Shattered Plains, before she stopped to rest. She had found a nice den to stay in for the night. Only to find it occupied. A guardian, a mirror, and several other dragons stared back at her. It was the most awkward silence she had ever been through and she still talks about it to this day. After a moment, the Guardian approached Rose and introduced himself. The guardian, now known to her as Oceanrun, explained that they were on a journey to find his charge. The same thing Rose sought. She explained her similar plight, and asked to accompany them on their journey. She hoped she could find her charge along the way. Oceanrun accepted. The journey was rather uneventful for her, save for when they were in the Viridian Labyrinth. Rose was exploring the clan they were staying at when she noticed a blacksmith at work. She had always been in love with the way blacksmiths worked, but this was the first time she had fallen in love with their creations. And then the dragon himself. She had been overjoyed when he said that he'd come with her. Their journey finally ended in the Southern Icefield, with the now very large group of dragons returning to the Sea of a Thousand Currents. It was there that she felt it. She had been the one to lead the group to the abandoned lair. Anxious joy filled her when Oceanrun said that they would be staying. The colony soon settled, but Rose was still not satisfied. Her charge was in the depths of the lair. The first caving mission was lead by her, it consisted of a majority of the group, with some staying at the surface. The group discovered many things the Colony still uses today. And Rose discovered the Heartforge. It was dying when she discovered it, her instincts spurred her into action, tending to it and nurturing it back to health. It responded by lighting the colony, leading to even more discoveries. For her mate, it was the mother of all forges, but to her... It was her charge. |
Familiar: Redtail got her name from the bright red markings running down her tail. She is very curious and enjoys exploring, whether physically, or through her experimenting. She deals with a lot of poisons and potions that use heat and heard plenty of rumors, so she came to Skull Reef seeking the legendary Heartforge. She and Rose struck up a friendship, and practically lives in the Heart Chamber now. Inventory:
