Personality: Nyfin is a very calm dragon to the point of stoicism. She believes strongly in the good of her work and understands the responsibility and consequences of her abilities. She is very protective as well, and will gladly leap in between an ally and an attack. She is very forgetful however, a drawback of her power, and her devout belief borders her on fanaticism. Her cold exterior tends to drive others away from her. Facts: -Nyfin's jellyfish "shawl" is a part of her body. The stingers do work, and she can manipulate them with ease. -Her immortality is based on Turritopsis dohrnii or the Immortal Jellyfish, which turn back into polyps in response to injury. Hence her memory "resetting" to the last pearl layer. |

History: Nyfin was born to a traveling clan of raiders in The Tangled Wood. Her life growing up was filled with lessons of combat. She learned how to fight, how to steal. How to kill. Pretty soon, she was on the battlefield with the rest of the clan. She was ferocious in battle, tearing through large swathes of enemies and knocking over dragons twice her size. Her pearl swelled with memories of fierce battles and triumphant victories. She quickly became one of the best fighters in the clan, and paraded at the front of the charge. She was confident in her cause, ensuring the survival of their clan. Until she truly saw the consequences of their glory. It was one of their typical raids. A small, yet well-guarded, clan in the Driftwood Drag. It had been a vicious battle, but in the end Nyfin's clan secured another victory. She approached the den that had been the most guarded, expecting whatever riches the clan had amassed. A nest of eggs greeted her vision and watching over them was a large, stone idol depicting a jellyfish. Eggs were of no use to her, and the thought of smashing them disobeyed her honor. Nyfin turned away from the nest to continue her search for treasure when one of the higher ranking members pushed past her and approached the eggs, a malicious glint in his eye. Slightly concerned, Nyfin asked him what he was going to do to the eggs. "We're taking them of course" he crowed, grinning "they'll sell for a good lump of treasure!" "And if they don't" Nyfin inquired, the Ridgeback's grin turned dark. "Then we'll just smash em, don't need them anyways!" He turned back toward the eggs only for Nyfin to get in the way. The raider gave an amused smirk, which quickly vanished when the Pearlcatcher took a large bite of his nose. The Ridgeback raider howled in agony, alerting the rest of the clan. He snarled, holding his nose, as they surrounded her and the nest. "You little-" he started before growling as his nose stung. He roared again and lunged toward her, claws outstretched. The jellyfish idol glowed a blinding gold just as Nyfin's body hit the ground, a large wound marring her skin. When the brilliant light subsided, the Ridgeback had been flung back out the entrance. Nyfin stood before the nest, a brilliant red mantle spread over her shoulders like the bell of a jellyfish and a halo of stinging tentacles lashed angrily. The gaping wound on her body closed back up. She turned to the rest of her former clan with eyes that burned with ancient knowledge. And pure fury. The raiders found themselves quickly pushed back by the Pearlcatcher come back from the dead. She moved lighter than she once had with flexibility in her motions. In the end, the raiders retreated back toward their camp. The eggs remained intact. Nyfin left the seaside clan the next day. She wandered for quite some time before coming across a small group of dragons crossing through. They were a nice bunch, different from her old clan. From conversing with them, she found they were a group on a journey to find a Guardian's charge. Seeing their noble cause and having no place to go, Nyfin asked to accompany them. Now, Nyfin holds a unique immortality. She can recover from fatal wounds, at the cost of her strength, layers of her pearl, and her memory. With the knowledge of the Jellyfish Spirit embedded forever in her mind, Nyfin follows its will and protects the defenseless and crushes the evils that oppose her. |
Familiar: Nyfin owns a Jawlocker named Trapmaw. Trapmaw serves as a memory chest of sorts, keeping objects for Nyfin to remember if she loses her memory to her power.
