Agrona

Considered an avatar of the Mother Plaguebringer herself, Agrona's words guide even Ateula's actions, though she is technically second in the complex hierarchy of the Scourge. While her mate guards the clan's physical strength, Agrona tests the mettle of it's faith, sharpening it as a tool of the Mother and conveying her wishes to them.

Though she views the adult members of the clan with maternal possessiveness, Agrona is not much of a mother. She is neither soft nor gentle, often the only thing tempering her aggression and zealous faith being her mate's caution. She is ever faithful to Ateula, but she is not above speaking her mind, defying him or questioning him if she thinks it is for the better. She is the only one who defies him with impunity. It is Agrona, as a direct link to the Mother and her wishes, who has the final say over many important clan decisions including the assigning of titles and the decision about who is Scourge and who is not. She also is a keeper of true names, and for many she is the only one who knows their birth name.
