M I S T L E T O E

The Frosted Gladewalker

THE BEGINNING

Albus and Angel once visited the Viridian Labyrinth and had a nest while doing so. Both parents were as white as the snow they came from, and so would their offspring be as well. The surprise was their eyes, their very element. The nest and surrounding magic had seeped into their eggs and stolen their ice magic away, replacing it with mother nature's. The parents left the hatchlings in the labyrinth, vanishing the very same night. They were both high ranked in the ice domain, and having hatchligs of a so different element was unheard of. And so they vanished into the night. At home, back in the Southern Icefield, Angel could not bear it any more. She went to the Icewarden and begged him to let her serve him for the rest of her life. He accepted her pledge, and since then no one has seen or heard of her. Albus, left alone with his businesses, froze his heart away and continued his work.

The 3 hatchlings were taken good care of by the nature dragons. They were brought up by totally different dragons they thought was their true families. When they reached maturity they slowly realised the truth. They were tundras, borne from parents with coats as white as the now they had only heard about in tales. Eidelveiss pledged her heart to her family and has stayed with them ever since. Misteltoe and Whiteflower both decided to go explore the world. They crossed most of the Tangled Wood together before they split up.

THE JOURNEYS

He first decided to go see his parents' land. He was a tourist wanting to see his motherland, and did not try to seek out his parents. He spent two months in Momentsofclarity's trading lair, where he met his first mate. Her name was Steam, and they had 3 eggs which became 3 healthy hatchlings.

Their lovely hatchlings left the lair sometime before him. Biscotti and Steam left first, like two peas in a pod. They would never leave each other's side. The last hatchling disappeared on adventures before they got a chance to name her.

Word about his arrival must have found its way to his fathers' ears because the day he left there was a hastily written note for him. He suspected it was the newly arrived light dragon who had put it there, but he guessed it was not from him. It simply said "Have a safe journey" and could have been from anyone, but he had a feeling. He left the lair in high spirits. The newly arrived light dragon was named Snowdown and had recently been to the Windswept Plateu. He spoke warmly about it, and recommended him to search for the Windflower Clan. He had no idea why, but he decided to take the advice.

SETTLING DOWN

It did not take as long as he had feared to travel to the Windswept Plateu. He had been accompanied by a small flock of Midnight Suns. He did not like to part with them, as they had proven helpful, skilled and friendly. He would always link their smell to one word: family. Though he reached the border much quicker than anticipated, finding the Windflower clan proved a challenge. Everyone said it was "the place with the 3 tall trees", but there were no trees in sight and no one seemed to remember the correct direction. After 3 weeks crisscrossing the Plateu he finally glimpsed something tall. It took him some more days to reach it, but the sight was worth the wait: There was a normal forest close by some small hills, with 3 not tall but huge trees growing from somewhere a little off the middle of the forest.

When Misteltoe settled down and wrote to his sister, her reply spoke of great news: Eidelveiss had become a mother of 4 with a nature dragon named Titus. His brother had settled in the Scarred Wasteland, and had a son with Moonstrike. He was happy to read that they had all found their homes. Eidelveiss' letter also told about his daugther being sighted in the Viridian Labyrinth, with the name Gabrielle. There were too few triple white tundras for it to be a coincidence. He immediately sent her a letter, though he did not know her address. He hoped Eidelveiss could catch a good scout for him, and she did. He got a toutching letter in return.

HOBBIES

He likes to exercise, and are always seen outside. Many believe Mistletoe has some sort of claustrofobia, but none have any solid proof. He excels in sports like climbing and swimming, though he only does the ladder during the summer. Any but water tundras are considered fools to try and swim in their winter coat. Mistletoe would have been a great triathlete, but he only competed once. It was when he first arrived o the clan, and he won 3rd place in his race. No one knows why he didn't continue competing, and many have asked. None has gotten the answer they sought.

He enjoys long walks, little flowers and a sometimes even sunbathing. He is a too good looser and will occasionally loose a board or card game on purpose. He is kind, and a good listener for the hatchlings. He chooses his friends carefully, but seem to get along with most familiars. This is because his birth clan used to let their familiars roam free in the village. They belonged to everyone, not one specific dragon. He likes to dress for the different seasons, but has grown reluctant to let the flower crown he got from his daughter down too long.

Mistletoe is quick on learning scholarly subjects, and learned complex mathematics from Bubblegem. He also enjoys history and biology greatly.

His theme song is "Take to the Sky" by Owl City, which is the same as is the lair's theme song. This is because he has been a wandering dragon before, but has finally found his home in the Zephyr Steppes.

Mistletoe sat by the window. It was cold and white outside, like the upper layers of his fur. He was warm underneath, and his cape flowed around himas he rose and stepped outside. Had he been naked he would have been invisible. But he was not, and early birds greeted him good morning as he made his way to the gardens. They had gathered enough coverage for the flower beds and bushes, and everything was in order. When he first arrived in the Windflower, he dismissed the rumor that was posed as a fact that it always snowed on Dec. 1st. Now he had experienced it several years in a row and had come to accept. He sat down and smelled a winter rose.
