A black mist follows him wherever he goes,
and so does that annoying creature, that Fae, Locust,
but his patience is as infinite as the abyss.
It was waiting, immeasurable waiting for the end times,
that instilled in him this virtue and a ghoulish cruelty.
He found himself attracted to scenes of mortal suffering,
as if he could smell their anguish and hopelessness--
countless eons of crumbling decline made for a heady bouquet.
In the beginning he tended to his wicked garden,
sowing sorrow by terrorizing the weak,
for deeper despair brought sweeter harvests.
But as he slowly shook off his abyssal lethargy,
he began to feel mortals' grief as his own.
It has taken immeasurable time, yes,
but he no longer preys upon the pained--
instead, he purifies them, taking their pain away
and replacing it with a clean, black silence.
"Look," they say. "He feasts in the gentlest way."
