Salil

Whilst Melusine guards the waterfall, Salil protects the depths below. His serpentine body coils endlessly beneath the rippling surface. He rears his head solely to accept offerings from the supplicant Charybdis, and to visit his soul-mate's cave as the white moon rises to father her eggs. He's as fierce as the water's spray, and she as fastidious as a river depositing debris on the bank. And yet, they weave together in the dark, gentler with each other than even the hatchlings frolicking in waters they can easily calm with their combined power. He drapes her crystalline skin in flowing silk and water plants, whilst she threads shells and glass beads into his mane. The exchange of loving tokens keeps them linked in mind as well as body.
