Chymes runs a strange little shop out of a cave on the edge of the Scarred Wastelands. There it is eternally still, almost timeless. Those who visit find that they never see any other customers-- merely the shop owner herself, appearing inattentive and snout-deep in a book behind her desk, upon which a Lesser Wisp rests and swirls languidly in its crystal sphere. Somehow they give off the impression of being watchful. Indeed, merely eyeing an item for sale will prompt Chymes to announce its price without glancing up from her book.

Her shop is disorganized. Curios and antiques clutter the shelves. Thick, dusty tomes are crammed into bookcases, many of them penned by anonymous authors. An alchemy station with ingredients strewn around it occupies the far corner, and candles provide the only source of light, placed almost strategically in nooks and crannies in pools of melted wax. Often dragons do not find what they're looking for; rather, something they did not expect finds them instead.

Chymes is not so much unfriendly as she is introverted and curt. She provides single-word answers to questions and is considered by most who pass through to be odd, if not intimidating. She's extremely knowledgeable on items and willing to barter and haggle, though grows irritated when dragons try and undercut her.
