Don’t mess with Hibiscus. That’s a general rule, passed from adult to hatchling to make sure nobody gets their head bitten off. She’s a no-nonsense Ridgeback who takes pleasure in intimidating other dragons. Because she’s so uptight and stubborn she’s slightly obnoxious, but she tries to keep her taunts to a minimum. On good days, she limits her nastiness to three insults per dragon. She’s fiery and passionate, which means she’s difficult to argue with. She’s difficult in general, actually, but it makes her very good at her job.

Hibiscus is a guard. She takes her job very seriously, which means if anyone tries to distract her, they’ll be licking their wounds for weeks. The only dragon allowed to speak to her while she’s on duty is her best friend, Cry. They were adopted into the clan together. She comforted them when their old clan sent them away. She’s very protective of them because they’re the one thing she cares about more than herself. With some time and patience, perhaps she can make room in her heart for her other clanmates. It’ll take lots of coaxing, flattery, and walking on eggshells, but the right dragon can win her over if they can figure out how.
