Moonracer is kind, but firm. She believes in equality above all else. She has a soft spot for abandoned familiars and the heart of an activist. As an adult, she decided to only eat plants after seeing the suffering of living creatures at the hands of the clan hunters.

Her parents were named after gods. A pride in her heritage was instilled in her from the start. Though she has lived in the shadows and the ice realm with the Glass Shatter Clan, she will always be loyal to her arcanist roots. As a hatchling, she preferred the company of the clan's familiars to other dragons. She has become a sort of activist for the better treatment of familiars taken from the coliseum and from Beastclans. She becomes a mentor to Shaw (Ivory & Moonshine's granddaughter).

The Day her Mentee Left:

She had tried. She wanted to fit into the Glass Shatter clan. She wanted Moonracer to return her affections. But, life doesn't always work out the way we plan.

From the moment she arrived as a young dragon in the Glass Shatter clan she knew she wanted to be with Moonracer. The older imperial had been assigned as her mentor. She was the Familiar Keeper for the clan and had long been needing an assistant. The bestiary had grown considerably as the Glass Shatter grew, and the task had become too great for one dragon to handle on their own. Shaw was to become Moonracer's aid. One look at her mentor, though, and Shaw fell head over heels. Despite her advances, Moonracer was oblivious to the younger dragon's affections.

Shaw was persistent. She barely slept over the course of the six months she spent in the Glass Shatter clan. She wanted nothing more than to please her admired, so she took her role as her assistant seriously. Before the dawn, Shaw was up and tending to the familiars. Long after Moonracer retired for the evening, Shaw would stay and watch over her charge. She carried out every order for her admired, but it seemed that Moonracer saw her as no more than a child... her assistant.

It had been far too long. Shaw couldn't keep living this way. Her heart ached every time she saw her mentor. It wasn't enough to occupy the same space as her anymore. She wanted to be with her. Mustering up her courage, she approached her admired one day and professed her love.

"I'm sorry my dear, you are a lovely dragon with a beautiful heart, but I just don't see anyone that way." Moonracer's eyes softened, Shaw could see that it was hurting her mentor to let her down like this, "Of course I care for you, but I can't love anyone like that. I have to be alone." She embraced Shaw, genuinely distraught at the thought of the pain she was causing to her admirer. But, it could never be.

Shaw blinked back her tears, mumbling something about how she didn't really mean it anyway... it was fine. "I... I think I'm going to take a break from watching the familiars today if that's alright." Moonracer nodded her permission. When she reached her quarters, Shaw didn't stop. She just kept walking. She didn't know where she was going, but she wouldn't be staying in the Glass Shatter anymore. She couldn't.
