They say he was on the run for a crime. They say he was stolen away from his family. So many have created rumors about a history he cannot remember. He hardly recalls how he came to be in the Snowsquall Tundra. He remembers the Starwood Strand, the bare trees blooming with illuminated flowers in the dark of night. Why he was there, though, he doesn't know anymore.

Niniji found him in the Southern Icefield. They say he was in a poor state but they can't say if it was because of the harsh weather or because of the Ice-born dragons. Whatever the cause, the Guardian saw fit to reverse the damage made. She took him and cared for him, even named him Vayne. And he learned that he hated it.

He learned how to hide his displeasure from Niniji. He even learned how to hide his distaste from the clan they joined with. He didn't know why she wanted to be in a clan. It seemed... troublesome, like too much work was required. And work was what they gave him. They put him with the beasts and he grew to loathe the creatures.

They say that he is hopeful for the potential of this new rule, now that they are in Nature. He feels the song of the Gladekeeper in his bones. His eyes have grown brighter, but strange dreams have started to disrupt his slumber. They say that he is beginning to remember.
