Fractal wandered into Silverwick at a young age, alone but clearly well nourished. From the moment she entered the kingdom it was apparent that she was a very skilled hunter. Her natural camouflage and surefootedness even on the iciest surfaces meant that she never needed help to get her own meals, like most of the other hatchlings at the time. At first it was believed she might have some magical skill to help her, but that idea was quickly abandoned. Even still, Frost volunteered to raise her to adulthood, having taken a liking to the child, despite the lack of snow magic that would have made them more similar.

Because Frost stepped in as her guardian, she picked up many of his traits. She tends to be cold and distant from all but Frost himself, and prefers to spend her time scouring the harsh terrain for food rather than huddled up with the various scholars and nobility of the kingdom. However, she still has a deep devotion to the dragons that welcomed her as a hatchling, and always returns to share her bounty.
