Aiakos

"Not all afflictions are outwardly visible. The worst can only be seen from within."

Aiakos was his parents' second child. His mother was a mortician and undertaker, frequently alert for the signs of the undead. She dispatched of them wherever she went, despite not actively hunting them. To dead needed to rest and stay dead. Anyone who defiled that would perish. Anything that they had brought back to life, would be sent back to death.

Aiakos' father was the more difficult for him to accept. Kallias was cursed with an affliction of the undead. He was not undead himself, but he bore the markings of a curse. Even worse, Melinoe, Aiakos' elder sister had directly inherited it. It was fortunate that Aiakos had been spared from it...or so they thought.

What permeated through Aiakos was not the visible sort of curse. It was a parasite on his personality. Where his sister was a kind and fair judge, he was much more willing to remove of the undead without much thought as to what they were like.

Always distant and focused, Aiakos puts all of his attention into the undead. He has little care for the living. His life is harsh, but that is the path that he has chosen.
