Biography

Thel - Grave Overseer

Sentimental // Reserved // Solemn
divider.png
"Death must be so beautiful. To lie in the soft churned earth, with the grasses swaying to a gentle breeze - waving above one's own head, and listen to silence. To have no yesterday, and no tomorrow. To forget time, to forget life - and to finally be at restful peace.

I envy the fallen, to be at peace and not to fret over the stresses that plague us day and night. To feel that burden lifted and to know tranquility."

Biography

He was once a young naive, playful shadow hatchling. Being naive was his strongest point - which is what created him as he is today.

In the deep foggy Tangled Wood, one had to strive for survival skills. Trickery with the light and shadows one had to learn how to slip in and out of the shadows unnoticed. He grew to hone these skills, hunting in the dark and adapting to the little natural lights in this dim world he has come to know.

Yet, as stated before with his naive skills, this concluded him getting into trouble. He had ventured too far from his parent's lair, too far from the clan's borders. Wind howled, and vines rattled but he acted tough. This is where a dark trouble would wait his for his arrival.

A shade-fiend had been practicing cursed arcane magic, old magic that should have died. As a young imperial he was a prime target - not quite fully grown, but large enough. The fiend cursed him, a green smoke raced across the ground and touched his front feet.

It climbed his arms and seeped into his skin, agony blind and searing pain as his scales burned, a green fel fire burned at him before burning away a good portion of his body. It lay in the heart of his rib-cage now, but with its cursed life it flickers and rages silently.

Fearful he made his way home, healers attempted to remove the curse but it would turn upon him and burn him further - with no success and the target he painted he was banished from his home.

Years passed and he kept on the move, shunted from other young clans under mutterings of fear that he was a Shade Fiend himself, how he would bring nothing but demise upon their clan. Eventually he gave up. He only wanted to find a home to feel somewhere where he belonged. Going across all of the lands and to multiple borders of clans only to be chased away or threatened with bared fangs and deadly growls.

Thel felt like he couldn't bare it any longer this false sense of living, he turned upon the wind and set a course for the Plague-Lands, he figured if he couldn't live anywhere else without threats upon his life, he might as well end it his own way. Ice clans had attempted to encase him in ice, thinking he was infected by shade energies. Fire clans would flank him and hope they would drive him into the molten lakes of lava. Water clans would threaten to drown him, Wind clans had dove at him driving him into the twisting crescendo. He couldn't bear it.

If it wasn't those he had several others like Lightening, attempting to trap him with live electricity to keep him caged like some exhibit, Light had been the worst, blinding him and attempting to sear his skin. Arcane clans had threw bolts of spells at him, earth tried to bury him in deep dark crevices and nature tried to root him in place. The only place that hadn't done anything was the dreadful Plague-Lands.

That is where he was headed now. Maybe he might just fly into the Wyrmwound itself, and finish what he couldn't bear any longer.

Yet, this is where this story takes a turn for the lighter part. Exhausted he crashed from the air, being found by yet another Imperial. A deep red with black wings to be formally known as Abaddon. The imperial took an interest in him but instead of acting superstitious he offered him water and food - and asked questions. Trying to learn about his strange appearance.

Thel kept his guard up, but took the drink and food, answering the Imperial's questions, when he gained his strength back, this new Imperial Abaddon asked him to join him in his lair for a few nights. He had a well sized clan, and the clan gave both Abaddon and Thel a wide berth when they entered, but undisturbed - Abaddon allowed him to rest in his own Chambers, while he returned to his duties.

Surprisingly, no one disturbed Thel, a few poked their head in but eventually moved on past. It wasn't until a while later when Abaddon returned to check in and chat idly about skills - this was a test to see where he might fit in best.

He couldn't help but be skeptical, but he couldn't fit in with other branches, so he asked more questions, it was about a day or so and as a current guest, he was wandering around when the unfortunate happened. A cascading failure that brought the worst situation. An escaped hostile creature - yet to be trained, an abandoned post at the Rookery, and multiple fatalities at the nests with new hatchlings.

Roars, and Anger rose - Thel had made his way through the throng of the crowd, and encountered the horrific sight, he cradled the young forms - this was his calling. They had no Graveyard Keeper. He stared at their small forms, mistakes would happen and life was messy.

After the scene died down, Thel had confronted the parents, requested if he could give their forms the proper and special care after this terrible situation. They in their grief took a few moments before allowing to trust him, he cradled them softly and washed them then added the special care they required to make them 'whole' per say.

Abaddon had seen this scene unfold and how he was respectful, Sentimental and Reserved to these recently deceased, this is where he belonged. Abaddon granted him this lone title - no one would control his actions or job but if he payed the fallen this amount of respect he deserved to be here. This is where he currently is.

He enjoys life and death, not in a morbid way, but for how fleeting the memories are. The liveliness in one's eyes at birth, and the somber peace in their resting face. He comes to enjoy the small things everyone forgets about.

Rtas 'Vadum Thel Vadum's brother.
