Biography
Grella
Soothsayer
Grella seemed to have been born with weak powers of foresight, and is experienced in using various artifacts and trinkets to amplify these powers. As she grew and matured, so did her powers. She is able to predict events in the immediate future for the most part, though flashes of events that will occur further down the line will also come to her. At times she is plagued with visions of futures that could be, but will not pass, though distinguishing them from the true future is something that she has a knack for. Despite this, these visions can sometimes weigh down on Grella, filling her with grief and anxiety for what may come. She keeps the terrible possibilities to herself, never sharing her burden of knowing the many terrible fates that were just narrowly avoided.
Nobody knows why a Wind-born dragon such as her got these unusual abilities, as she never knew her birth family. Her earliest memories of hatchlinghood are those of fending for herself in the wild, all alone. She spent the first years of her life dwelling in a comfy cave on the outskirts of Nature territory, constructing a tidy living space there and amassing a sizable hoard of magical trinkets. Due to some sort of infection she must have contracted as a hatchling, she slowly started to lose her sight, being almost completely unable to see by the time she reached maturity. Grella never was able to truly regain her sight through magic, though it did not take her long to become accustomed to her new disability. The closest she has gotten to sight is a hazy awareness of colors and shapes around her brought to her by her steadily growing magical abilities.
She eventually came to live in Terra's clan when a pack of Centaurs raided her cave, stealing and destroying many of her most treasured possessions and badly injuring her when she tried to drive them away. This unforseen event made Grella realize that her isolated life was not truly safe, and that though she could see many things that would to come, she could not trust that her visions would show her everything. She made her way deeper into the dangerous jungle, guided by her visions, and stumbled upon a budding community of dragons that welcomed her and gave her a place to stay, lead by none other than a fae that she had given food and a place to rest some time before.
Grella very quickly made herself at home in the little community, rebuilding her collection of items from the ground up. The clan relies on her as a soothsayer to predict minor events in the future, such as weather, the successfulness of a future nest hatch, and sometimes enemy attacks. Drache is the most important dragon in her life. The two are very close friends as well as on-and-off romantic partners, and Grella could not imagine life without the female pearlcatcher.
Her collection of magical items has always been her charge, though during her early life when she began amassing her hoard she had no knowledge of this concept. Grella spends much of her time organizing and keeping tabs on her mounds of possessions, and had even taken on Maven as her assistant to help with this, among other things.
