B I O G R A P H Y


______ T he woods are deep, still, and quiet. They are dark, even in the bright realm of Light. Power rises and ebbs; unseen, unheard, unfelt by any dragon.

______ T he Rite of the Beastclan, a mysterious ritual, is done only once in a decade when the moons of Sornieth align beneath the Sign of the Centaur. All of the Clans assemble in the darkness of the forest, silent in the quiet, motionless in the stillness. The forest breathes with the Clans, and the Clans breathe as one, reunited as a people as they hadn't been since the shattering of the Pillar.

______ Slowly, a voice rises. A song, a heartbeat, an ache for the lost and scattered tribes of a once strong nation. Another rises beside the first, in counterpoint, and before long the woods are alive with a ringing tribute to the past and the future; joy, sadness, longing, and rage intermixed in harmony. The song goes on until the sun stains the horizon and washes the stars from the sky, at which point the silence resumes. After the song, the silence is sharp and cutting, painful in a way that can only be after the sharing of so much voice... but that is the way the world is now. The Clans, alone, in silence.

______ Slowly the woods empty. Each people return to their lands... and no one sees the forest weep, the phantom form of a dragon made of bark and moss born to shed the healing tears for the loss of the moment in the stillness of the deepest, darkest wood.
