Biography
Xafra left home in high spirits after a teary eyed goodbye from her family. She was to make her fortune in a similar way to what her father, her inspiration, always did. She was going to be a knight! Before this she had grown up loving her family, with a caring mother and a supportive father in one of the most friendly and peaceful clans. She admired the fighters of the clan, recognizing their importance in keeping everyone safe and happy. She was one of the few who missed her brother, Atticus, when it was decided that he wasn't a good fit for his home lair. She struck out into the heart of Sorneith, where battles with the Shade were rampant and fighters were needed both of the exalted serving flight leaders, and mercenary combatants. Xafra, at first, was enamored with these glistening heroes. She did not wish to become exalted, because she too wanted to retire to a lair that she could protect and raise, and didn't want to dedicate herself to one flight. |
She joined the ranks of a large mercenary company, as a low level soldier, and got her first glimpse of what a true battlefield looked like. The innocence seemed to drain from her face when she saw the ravages of the battle with the Shade. She defended herself, barely, and survived until the shade had passed on.
As the cheers went up from those who left unscathed, she wandered off. She became lost. She joined wandering mercenaries, and left just as quickly. She fought both beasts and dragons for whatever price would be offered.
Her renown and infamy grew as an uncaring sell-sword, far removed from the bright eyed youth who looked up to her heroes and dreamed of honor. Word even reached her old home lair which dismayed her parents. They sent her a letter begging her to come home, even just so they know she was okay.
At first Xafra made no effort to go home. Months went by, but the remained unwanted in the back of her mind. After a job ended close to her home lair she found she couldn't make excuses anymore so she payed them a visit.
Though they were happy to have her back, they all realized that she was a much different dragon to the one who left. She found herself, after a few weeks, able to relax a little, but she knew this couldn't be her home any more.
Xafra knew that she couldn't continue her life the way she had been living, and needed to find herself a home. Bubblegum, her mother, spoke of a letter she had from Xafra's older brother, Atticus, and how he seemed to have changed and was still enjoying Jötunheimr. She once again said goodbye to her family, this time with a more heavy heart, as she now knew how brutal the world can be. Jötunheimr fits her well. She can be alone and doesn't have to socialize with any other dragons, as her might and battle prowess covers any work that she might need to do. She still appears cold and distant to others, but this fits her new home well, and she is much happier now than she was as a wanderer. |
