Goldstripe might not be the biggest or the meanest looking dragon around, you’d probably still really want him on your side in any given conflict. He’s unmatched in the clan when it comes to pure fighting skill. He arrived to the clan alone and afraid, the memories of some horror flashing in his eyes, making them watery and glaced. He was no fighter when he arrived. But he was, as he has remained ever since, smart and agile. He’s a quick learner and shortly after arriving he’d befriended Malachite, the guard of the clans riches and one of the most skilled warriors. They’re both stereotypical heroes at heart. Brave, kind and with a strong feeling for what’s right - and a fierce need to protect it. It was a friendship just waiting to happen. Slowly he learned the ways of the warrior and it was soon apparent there’s strength in abundance hidden in him, along with cleverness and compassion. He now guards the clan by his friend’s side (and side by side with Cayenne, though that friendship took longer to develop) and by the gods is he good. |
He’s a little hard to get to know well. He’s reserved and by any mention of his past he just shuts down completely. He’s slowly working towards getting better - he’s even been able to open up about what happened to him to the precious few who know him best - they’re all very proud - but there’s still way to go. It’s not that he’s mean or off putting. He’s just … private? Mala might fight for the entire clan and its riches. Goldstripe is only really loyal to his friends, even if he would die for them in a heartbeat. And his humor might be an acquired taste. He deadpans absolutely everything, jokes about some weird stuff and his laughter sound more like weird gurgling. It can be charming but yeah … definitely an acquired taste. Whatever quirks he’s developed over the years it doesn’t weigh up how formidable he is. How brilliantly he shines and how his very existence seems to sing about fighting back against enclosing darkness and not only winning, but thriving No one could doubt that. Not when the sun hits him a late afternoon when he stands guard on his post and everything in and around him glows. Golden |
