The third youngest of six siblings, and the daughter of the leaders of Clan Hoarfrost, Ardest and Levant. Her grandparents are the great Lirot and Hera, and expectations for Esmeralda are high. Being one of the younger of the siblings, she has examples of how to be in her older siblings, Kaen, Uukeere, and Nevini, and Esmeralda lives up to the challenge. Like her mother and grandmother, she's a hardworker and social butterfly, easily winning many over just with her words. Kaen, Uukeere, and Nevini are all a little jealous of her, as she has no qualms with her position and actually rather enjoys it.

As the Ice Emissary, she is the one who sends dragons off to the Icewarden, and she deals with the Icewarden's temper. She easily puts up with his grousing, and knows the right words to tell him to somewhat win him over. Communes with the Icewarden are a bit rare, since Clan Frostbite rarely sends the Icewarden dragons, so Esmeralda's trips to him are mostly to report on the clan and obtain permission to expand the clan. Most of the time, Esmeralda's visits clash with other emissaries, and she ends up having to converse with them, even if she doesn't want to.

She also takes after her father in the sense of not enjoying using her necromancy. Esmeralda inherited said powers, but hates using them because of what she's heard they are capable of. Lirot is a bit disappointed, but he doesn't press her or bother her about it. He understands the fear many have of necromancy, and doesn't wish to force his beloved granddaughter to discomfort. Besides, she enjoys watching Uukeere and Lirot use necromancy more, since the both of them are better at it than she is.

Being one of the younger siblings, she adores her three older siblings, almost to the point of having an obsession with each of them. Her favorite sibling is Kaen, due to his goofball yet valiant nature. Kaen is always teaching her physical combat, even if she isn't great at it. Uukeere is known to dote on Esmeralda, grooming the latter constantly and reading to her. Esmeralda loves the attention, and never complains about it. Uukeere always doted on Esmeralda ever since she first came to the clan, and probably always will. Nevini helps her with her studies, and assists her in keeping track of the locations of dragons for her delivery service. Her relationship with Nevini isn't strained, but they aren't terribly close, something the two have always wanted to fix but never quite can.

Esmeralda leads the delivery service both inside and outside of Clan Frostbite. Her delivery service also fetches scrolls and tomes for a larger price, and she's often running errands for Nevini and Osia, the clan patriarch. Before, the delivery service was managed by the service between every flight, but Esmeralda took matters into her own claws, as she's faster and more efficient than the widespread service. Her mask was a gift from Zecara, a dragon from the Wind Flight. Esmeralda is dedicated to both of her duties, and earns the approval of many. Her Teardrop Chroma Armlet was a gift from Ardest, and the Teardrop Chroma Necklance a gift from Levant. They're her greatest treasures, and she's never seen without them. The fastest dragon in the clan.
