Biography
It really wasn't too long ago that Everna was a very average dragon. Exceedingly average, actually. So magnificently boring, in fact, that she was the subject of many a joke across the clan. She wore nothing but a simple green and white scarf. Did things she deemed "wife-ly" (tidying up, scolding hatchlings [and non hatchlings], discouraging Phasma from chasing imaginary monsters, washing clothes). She never did anything fun. No magic. No games. No snazzy outfits. Nada. She just wasn't any fun (Motley was the more fun clan "mom".) And this way she remained for many years.
Until, well. Phasma worked his genius on her.
Phasma and Everna were quite opposites almost their entire lives. Everna the 'content', simple homemaker that nobody listened to), and Phasma, the wild, cunning hunter of mythical arts and monsters. But they did love each other. Phasma spent many years trying to concoct ways to get Everna to participate in magic shenanigans, to which she wouldn't catch on until things got sorta... intense. She didn't know much about it but Phasma had, in fact, clued her in on his ambitions towards contact and revival of the dead. It may not have been her strong suit but Phasma was taking more dangerous measures to get his research done and asked her for help in earnest rather than just trying to get her to goof off. He was getting hurt. Putting himself in situations of peril and it was getting hard to ignore. He never admitted when he really needed help. He wouldn't let anyone else know this of course... he was too proud for that. Luckily, they were soul mates and he found someone he could trust in Everna.
It was the perfect opportunity to finally eliminate the "boring" (she didn't think she was boring) reputation she had, and also be a help to Phasma in the process. She donned her very own bird mask and before long she was covered in sigil tattoos. The birth of the "modern" Everna. Nobody from outside saw it the way the two of them did though and to them it pretty much just looked like Phasma simply rubbed off on her and she had gone mad. Her entire demeanor changed from tidy, social critical, and light-handed to nearly as cluttered and sleepless as her significant other. She grew to be more capable and self-sustaining on the battlefield and overall less defenseless in social situations. Rather, she didn't put up with the negative things anyone had to say anymore--- she was too busy for that. And at this point she was more than capable of bringing harm to anyone who gave her trouble.
She was keenly aware of the hoard of eyes staring at her from the shadows.
She certainly wasn't expecting all the antics to result in Phasma... intentionally getting himself killed, but luckily she had followed her gut and was able to be the one to raise the lantern that would release his cackling spirit back into the mortal realm.
