Biography

Once an ordinary student with great promise, Phasma rose the ranks to become the leader he is known as today.

Or, it's a bit more complicated than that.

For many years Phasma has held strong the position of Chemical Clan's leader, being well respected but perhaps never truly understood.

He displays an unapologetic "crazy old man" personality, with a heaping helping of recklessness to go along with it. Over the years his clanmates had started to believe he'd truly lost his marbles. He started searching for monsters, hunted magics and aura nobody had ever heard of, eventually was off doing something completely irrelevant to the clan so often that many had started to write him off as a viable leader. ...Strangely, not too long after that sentiment started to grow, the one known as "Seraph" walked on, a knight in shining armor for the clan. He was supposed to be a great, noble leader, a great and giving person, and the savior of...! Something. Sure enough, Phasma made him the "acting leader" of the clan while Phasma remained the true top dog. Why a leader would so suddenly give his power to... a stranger? Nobody knew. But they chalked it up to him being old and nuts as usual. Still, they listened to their great leader whom they still respected and were loyal to. Phasma simply continued to go off in search of mythical forces and monsters of legend.

Everybody thought he was crazy! But what did he think? Yeah, haha. Wasn't afraid to admit it. But perhaps not totally in the way they thought he was. And a bit of a genius, if he would say so himself. All of this was deliberate of course. Hunting down the unknown and untouchable was always his interest in earnest. But he wasn't stupid. He had in fact, always hunted down that which others were not willing to see, reaching out to the "impossible" that he always knew was possible. And he would achieve the impossible no matter what it took from him.

Phasma was considered by his elders as a "master of the shadow arts". He was always looking to experiment, and always looking for something dangerous to occupy himself with. Controlling the lights and shadow, dealing with the dead, souls, and the energy around us. Not to mention he was no slacker in battle either. He was quite good and stylish at fighting, and yet it was more of a side venture than anything to him. Dealing with shadow magic wasn't forbidden or anything, but it sure wasn't the priority of those around him. Fighting... surviving... training... he was just looking forward to getting some free time to work on whatever magical shenanigans he could conceive. They didn't want to take the cheeky young one's beliefs seriously, and yet he would always surprise them with his capabilities and how he would apply them to the things they did care about such as war. A genius he was indeed. He was free to practice his arts without ever losing the respect and credibility he built up.

His meeting with Everna was as ordinary as any other. He saw her. Thought she was quite interesting. In a not-at-all-interesting kind of way. She was so exceedingly boring and ordinary, he just couldn't help but be interested. He wanted to know how she worked and what made her stay so "safe" inside the world she knows. So uninterested in beyond the scope of chores and the day-to-day. He had to understand. He never would, fully. Suppose he found her *just* interesting enough to fall in love with her. And she found him *just* tolerable enough to fall in love with him.

He dragged her along on his adventures for many long years of life until "the turn" in which everybody began to notice her becoming rather... Phasma-like. Wearing a matching mask to his, and donning clothing & tattoos marking her steps into shadow magic. But that was towards the end of Phasma's life.

The war happened in a flash-- that against the Evil Family. Given that Phasma was rarely on the scene these days, and many believed him to be in poor shape, many thought he wouldn't survive the brutal onslaught. And they were right. He had given his last orders to the clan in as serious a tone as he ever could, to fight and not give up, and not to worry about him, and to listen to Seraph. Everna wasn't to follow him immediately, but would in time. Before anyone knew it the news that Phasma had died in battle spread across the territory, a wave of sadness and regret rippling through the sea of battle-worn soldiers.

Everna had a lot going through her mind. She was experiencing such grief at the loss of her loved one, but confusion at the message he had left her. Instructions, actually. So her grief caused her to do things she would perhaps never do when in a normal state of mind. She followed his instructions, doing whatever strange tasks involving magic or eldritch scripts it dictated. At the end of this road was something nobody expected. Phasma himself. Just, not quite as alive as before. Everna held a mystical item of the dark arts; a lantern from which his soul emerged to mock them all for thinking that he would ever truly be dead.

If anyone- past or present -ever thought Phasma incompetent or a fool chasing foolish dreams-- well, they were certainly wrong. He did it. He did it all. And what better way to cement his status as a capable individual (one that is MILES better than all of his haters,) than to do *the* impossible: Bring back the dead.
Maybe it wasn't in the way others wanted, but he did it! The ultimate goal. The ultimate end for an old fool chasing the mighty power of shadow arts. And better yet

he would never told anyone how he did it.
