Main Theme: Iron - Woodkid.

______ The nameless hatchling didn’t remember where he came from. He didn’t know how he had ended up in the Foxfire Bramble. The first thing he remembered was being cold - freezing cold - and not knowing where he was. He tried to force himself up, but his limbs were weak and stiff and painful, and he fell back to the ground with a small cry. It was getting dark, and snow was beginning to fall around him (despite the dense thorns around him). He exhaled deeply, his breath visible. The frost was too biting and powerful for him to fight.
An hour later, the darkness was complete. He closed his eyes, resigning himself completely to his fate.
The hatchling was unconscious when Ravon stumbled across him.

______ Marax thrived after being (literally) taken under Ravon’s wing. He never did forget the power of the sheer cold he had experienced as a hatchling, and he insisted that Ravon and Jura teach him to fight in the coliseum.
“Young one,” Ravon had purred, nudging Marax gently. “Why do you want to fight?”
“I want to be able to surpass it,” the pearlcatcher hissed, wrapping linen around a coliseum - sustained injury on his leg. “I wasn’t strong enough back then. You were the one protecting me. I want - no, I need - to be strong enough to overcome the cold.” He gritted his teeth and tied the linen tightly, stopping the bleeding. “I need to be able to protect you.”
It was through months of ruthless and endless training that Marax finally got his wish. He was the most powerful mage in The Lunate Clan, and just as cold as the ice he had mastered.
He was unbeatable.
