Mandible is a Skydancer from the Windswept Plateau who has spent his entire life playing with his food. As a young dragon, he let the plentiful winds of his land carry him around, aiding him in catching his favorite snacks. And during his early adulthood he and his parents left his clan so that he could pursue his studies in the Sunbeam Ruins. It was there that he learned any and all things about insects and arachids, becoming one of Sornieth's leading entomologists.

Work for a dragon of his interests is sparse, however, as most clans have no use for one who studies bugs. The vast majority of clans only have one interest in these creatures, and that is seeing them as food. Mandible set out to find a clan where he could, at the very least, catch these little invertebrates for a living.

Luckily for him, Clan Aves was quick to need a proper insect catcher as their omnivorous and insectivore populations grew. Mandible happily took up his residence here and began his work. Syrinx, once he came into power, desired for all members of his clan to allow their interests to flourish. Due to Mandible's passion, Syrinx has allowed Mandible to keep a collection of his finds, and he breeds many to study as well as supply for food.
