Lore
As the Glass Shatter's scholar, Solace spends most of his time buried in research. He has a voracious appetite for knowledge and is constantly sending his assistant, Majesty, on quests to find more scrolls to study from other clans. Majesty makes for a lousy assistant and takes a long time to return, but Solace doesn't mind. He enjoys her company in the brief moments that she's around. When she's gone, he savors his solitude. He keeps himself busy with his research and teaching his findings to other dragons in the clan.

Light in the Shadows
What would draw a light dragon to the shadows? Simply put, curiosity. Solace was born in the Sunbeam Ruins to parents who had both originated from lightening clans. Though he was a dragon of light, his curiosity urged him to travel to the birthplace of his parents. Solace, being more "book smart" than savvy, made a wrong turn and found himself in the Tangled Wood, instead.
A New Home
The Tangled Wood was the polar opposite of everything familiar to him. The crumbling ruins bathed in sunlight that he had been used to were replaced by hostile brambles cloaked in darkness. The ever present glow of the mushrooms intrigued him. Solace recorded everything he saw. There was too much to see, to smell, to touch, for him to turn back and try for the lightening realms. Scrolls and bits of parchment were strewn about him at any given time as Solace furiously wrote down all that he experienced, not wanting to miss a single detail.
Solace's Muse
He was lost in a deep train of thought when he stumbled upon his muse. She was unlike any dragon he had ever met before. A true free spirit, she wasn't bound to any clan or deity. She was a child of the shadows, but that never defined her. Such a unique creature, Rave never called any one place home and she was never loyal to any dragon. He dedicated himself solely to her, though he knew that she could never do the same for him. There were other males in her life. And that was okay, it was part of her beauty. She yearned for variety in companionship and love the way he yearned for knowledge, to understand the world around him.
Rave had been so bold. He was following a firebug that had been dancing among the glow shrooms. He was fascinated by the light it emitted. Marveling at the bright patterns it created, he didn't even notice the dragon standing beside him. "What are you doing?" she asked innocently. He jolted but something in her liquid lavender eyes put him straight at ease.
"Isn't it fascinating? Look at how it moves. It's a message. It's talking without words." Rave nodded and laid down next to Solace, where she stayed silently watching firebugs dance with him for hours. For a short time, the two dragons were inseparable. Rave joined him in his quest for knowledge and he became less interested in his surroundings and more interested in his companion. She told him of her lovers, both male and female, and of her children. She had a nest before she met him, just one nest but she had three hatchlings. She told him of their father, Moonshine, and his afflictions. Moonshine still lived with the same clan as Rave that was run by a vicious matriarch named Aries, but mostly kept to himself out of necessity. Solace would eventually be accepted into the same clan, though he would never meet Moonshine. Solace wanted to know everything about Rave. Her capacity to love intrigued him.
Experiencing Life with Rave
He loved her. The honor of siring her second nest was one of the greatest experiences of his life. Wholly devoted to her and their eggs, he never left their side the entire time their eggs incubated. Everything about the experience, from the texture of the shells to the way Rave would tuck them close to keep them warm, fascinated him. He couldn't wait to write about it.
Waiting for her Return
When the hatchlings were born, Rave nurtured them to her best ability, but it was time for her to move on. She loved Solace and their children, but it was time for her to go on to new things, to new relationships. He never begrudged her that decision. He knew she would come back eventually and in her absence he would continue to write about her. She would never really be gone. A piece of her would live on with their children in their adventures. Rave would always come back to this clan, but she was a free spirit that would only be happy given the chance to explore. To explore the world. To explore the Tangled Wood. To explore the hearts and bodies of others. Her inner and outer beauty would continue to inspire him even after she had gone. He would always be enthralled by her.
Accepted into the Glass Shatter Clan, Solace spends his days in the pursuit of knowledge. He educates any dragon in the clan that is willing to learn and is always happy to become a mentor for those that also seek knowledge. With the help of his assistant, Majesty, his library is always filled with a wide variety of scrolls just waiting to be read. He tends to get so wrapped up in his studies that his days and nights become a blur. But, time always seems to stand still when Rave comes to visit him.
