Biography

Sparrow
Currently mated to Whisper

Sparrow arrived at the clan as a weak hatchling who was plucked from a batch of soon-to-be exalted dragons while the clan was traveling through the Tangled Wood. Although initially too shy to approach any of the other members of her new clan, she realized it had been her beauty that saved her from being sent to serve the gods, and decided from that day on to use that gift accordingly. Once she reached adulthood, Sparrow's clanmates were mesmerized by her charm and lovely purple hues. She quickly attracted two young Imperials as potential mates- their names were Whisper and Nilus.
Sparrow was ecstatic about this influx of attention; she had spent most of her days as a hatchling crowded with the rest, ignored, but she now had two dragons who loved her and gave her their constant attention.
Whisper was a quiet and serene white Imperial, patiently wooing her and giving her gifts of jewelry and delicate flowers; he was always kind to Sparrow, even when she was flippant with his more subtle affection. Nilus, who was the younger of the two males, was more arrogant than Whisper; he had a gleaming dark coat and delighted in displaying his love for the young Imperial by showering her with lavish gifts, but became frustrated of Sparrow toying with his affection.
When the time came that Sparrow was old enough to lay her first clutch of eggs, she became pressured by her fellow clanmates to choose a mate. After deliberating for days, she finally settled on Whisper as her mate, who was elated. Nilus, however, was furious and devastated that the object of all his affection could not be his. The night before Whisper and Sparrow would have their status as mates finalized, Nilus, refusing to accept that he had lost Sparrow, seduced her in the dark of the night. The rest of the clan was horrified when they learned that Sparrow had birthed a single one of Nilus' eggs the next day, and they demanded she be banished for breaking the the sacred rules binding her to her mate. However, Whisper loved Sparrow too much to exile her from the clan, and decided to take her as his mate even after she betrayed him.
The treacherous egg that Sparrow had laid eventually hatched. She had steeled herself for this moment, knowing that she would have to kill the hatchling in order to preserve any good will with the rest of her clan. But when a tiny, dark, spitting image of herself stumbled out of the egg, all of her resolve melted. She named her little daughter Raven for her dark feathers, then brought her forth to the other members of the clan, begging them not to kill the hatchling for her own mistake. Sadly, her pleas fell on deaf ears, and her clanmates ordered her to kill the blasphemous hatchling. Still, Sparrow refused to kill her firstborn, and realized that the only way she would be able to spare her daughter's life would be to secretly give her to another clan.
Now an outcast of sorts among most of the clan, Sparrow has resigned herself to being a good mate to Whisper, now carrying around a white rose to show her love for Whisper, and a crown of violet flowers given to her by Nilus. She says she wears the crown as a reminder of the terrible deed they committed, but she alone knows it is truly because she still loves the dark dragon with a not-so-small portion of her heart.

-this lore is a WIP I got bored lmao-
