Cecily
▬▬ summary ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Cecily's birth clan was a small yet tight-knit one. Seemingly from the egg, she's always had an insatiable curiosity, following around any dragon who happened to catch her attention from the moment she figured out how to walk. None of the adults seemed to mind (other than the occasional time when her stream of questions became more like a flood, to their consternation), and even as she grew up, her need for answers never waned. It didn't last long, unfortunately--during her third excursion out onto the glaciers of the Frigid Floes, she accidentally strayed away from her mother, her curiosity drawn to an oddly shaped glacier. As she tried to climb it, she didn't realize that the combination of her movements and the current were slowly pulling it away from the others, and by the time she reached the top and looked back to call her mother over, it was too late; the glacier had floated far enough away that it couldn't be pushed back, and as young as she was, it was too far for her to swim without tiring and drowning. Her fate likely would have come much sooner, had it not been for the ship that nearly collided with her glacier. The crew of dragons that sailed it almost didn't spot her, thanks to her camoflauge, and would have continued on without her had it not been for one vigilant Mirror. They quickly pulled her aboard and nursed her back to health as they continued their journey, and as thanks for their help, she tried to help them out in whatever chores the Taskmaster thought she could handle. While the crew were all good-hearted dragons, they were still extremely boisterous and rough around the edges; luckily, it didnt take long for Cecily to adjust and lose any nervousness she first had around them, and she came to regard them as a family in their own right in the months she sailed with them. Eventually, however, she decided that it was time for her to move on, and she parted ways with them when they set anchor at the Shifting Expanse. After a time of aimless wandering, she eventually stumbled across the lair of Clan Scatterspark and eventually made her home there, helping out in whatever chores the other dragons thought she could handle. Despite having a less than smooth past, Cecily hasn't let it get her down; she remains as curious now as she had as a hatchling, and greatly enjoys learning what her fellow clanmates are doing. Thanks to the rough and tumble crew of ship dragons she sailed with, she doesn't have any fear of dragons that appear less than friendly, and will more often than not make herself right at home around them, often to their befuddlement. Of course, that same crew didn't really give her many opportunities to practice her social skills, so she tends to stumble in that particular area (not that she seems to mind). While there are times where she misses the open seas and the cold waters of the Southern Icefield, she remains content where she currently is, and uses the underground pool built for the Water dragons to sate her desire to swim. ▬▬ subspecies ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Only found in the Frigid Floes, this variation has a beautiful ice camouflage so they can remain mostly undetected in and out of the water. They are naturally good at swimming and have more oily coats than most tundras that repel the freezing water. They can bring smaller creatures who get trapped under the ice chunks to the surface while remaining invisible to predators. They are also known to work together in small groups to push ice closer to the ice fields if they float too far away. They carry themselves more silently than other tundras and are far less clumsy. They also have been granted a somewhat more keen memory than the rest of the breed. They are naturally very compassionate but can remain distant and cold. | ___ |
