Ganya
Fighter+Purifier+Universal Mother
"Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way round or through it."

When she was barely old enough to speak, the residents of a Shadow clan found a young Imperial floating at the edge of the ocean, near a delta of the Tangled Wood's river. She was gasping for air, panting, clinging for dear life to a piece of driftwood barely large enough to support her. Some dragons of said clan swooped down to scoop her up from the water and rush her to their resident doctor. Upon closer inspection, Sagebrush found the youngster to have many small cuts and scrapes across her body and gaping wounds near her legs. Her eyes were a deep blue color… Poor child, too wounded to swim.

She began to gently ask the young Imperial questions. What is your name? "Ganya." Do you know who your mother and father are? A nod. Do you know where they are now? A shake of her head. Do you know how you got here? Another head-shake. Can you tell me how you got your scrapes and cuts? Head-shake. Do you know the name of your clan? Yet another head-shake, followed by, "Hungry."

Sagebrush broke the news to her clan's leader, Eindrecht. Ganya seemed healthy enough, just somewhat scratched up, possibly due to a brush with a wild animal during her drifting travels. Sadly, without much to go on beyond her name and eye color, there was little hope that she would ever return home. Eindrecht simply stated that Ganya would be formally accepted as a new clan member.

As she grew older, Ganya turned out to be a rather powerful swimmer; there wasn't a trace of any scarring on her legs from whatever had injured her in her childhood. True to her Water origins, she had a natural love of swimming and being near water. If she wasn't taking naps by the Tangled Wood's river, listening to the music of it trickling over the driftwood, she was wading in its murky, brackish waters. Although she was often afraid of strange rustling in the trees, she feared nothing that may have lived under the water's surface. Its very presence brought her peace.

Halfway through her adolescence, she realized she had a strange ability. Whenever she stepped into, or simply touched, a body of water, the contaminates and dirt that swirled within disappeared, seemingly into her body. Her clanmates found her gift especially useful: the water in the Shadow territory tended to be somewhat polluted by decaying trees and the muck-filled swamps that connected to the river. Finally, they could have a clean drink from the river.

Sagebrush, however, expressed some concern when she noticed that Ganya's hide color had changed, just slightly: the impurities from the water had shown up as ripples. Ganya isn't sure of any other cause for this change, but she insists that besides her hide color, she feels healthy. Indeed, she has shown no outward signs of illness after purifying the water so far. Eindrecht ultimately decided to allow her to continue her work, but only if she promised to allow Sagebrush to perform physical checkups on her regularly.

In recent times, the Crystal Toadstool's clan has formed an Aquatic Corps for gathering resources from water-based venues of the Coliseum. Naturally, Ganya was the first volunteer. From the waterways under the Hewn City to the kelp forests of the Fishspine Reef, she helps fight monsters to collect their spoils for her clan's use, and quite happily, too. After all, she is—literally!—in her element there.
