OBERON
PRIEST
______________________

▬▬ ABOUT ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Oberon grew up in a small village, on the outskirts of a large kingdom. He was rambunctious, always out playing in the local woods with his fellow imperials. The kingdom he lived in was devoted to the Lightweaver, and so was he; as a youngling, he spent many hours volunteering at his local shrine, and was proud of his Lady.

As a young, foolhardy dragon, he joined up in his local kingdom’s Guard, questing for the glory of the Lightweaver. Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, he was eager to do his best for the good of his kingdom.

When he returned to his hometown, he had changed. Instead of the upbeat, excitable dragon they had sent off on a quest for glory, he had been replaced with a reserved, anxious drake. It took a long time, but Oberon settled back into his former life, and slowly slithered out of his shell, regaining some of his former life. While his time in the Guard had changed him, he wouldn’t let it define the rest of his life.

And then they started to die.

One by one, those around him, whether they were friends, family, or acquaintances, began to pass. He didn’t think much of it, at first. It was tragic, of course, and sent him scrambling back into his shell, but he knew he would recover, with time.

But it didn’t stop. They kept dying, from disease and accidents and animal attacks and-

His family dwindling, Oberon fled his hometown, terrified. He had connected the deaths, and found only one common denominator- himself. As he searched desperately for an answer as to his bad luck, he reflected on his time in the Guard. To the experiences that had made him so reserved in the first place.

Oberon keeps to himself at the Sanctuary. Desperately searching for absolution, though from what, he will not tell.

Lore length:

mentioned:

Tidus
Catman not his real name

Personality of dragon/s:

rambunctious, good natured, kinda vain, loves to help his village and adores Lightweaver.
At first.

Lore info:

He already has some premade lore, from previous owner(s). I'd consider this as very rough outline of his life.

First part:

At first he's very enthusiastic, thinking about how awsome being a guard has to be, how many dragons he will help, about females to save.
The training is nothing like he expected. Lots of work and endurance excercises, going on mundane important errands for the higher ups Lightweaver..
He likes to keep himself and his very beautiful golden flecks and wings shiny and spotless - it is similar to the Lightweavers coloring, after all!
He still tries to volunteer as much as possible at the local shrines.
And is often made fun of by his peers because of this. Though all in good nature.
Typical teenagers - young adults...
Should be overall a good part in his life.

Second part:

Life as guard isn't what he thought it'd be. Often boring, endless rounds of patrolling. Chasing off some small pests.
Warring with shade touched factions, bandits or intruders. Or simply defending their food and sleeping place. Which has no glory at all, so much hurt and blood and death.
Then, the day(s?) when everything went to **
Their "questing"(?) has brought them near the Icewardens domain. They had been tracking bloody trails, following dead bodies, to a .... weird (?) clan of only Imperials obsessed with gold... see Tidus story (takes place shortly before and then during their "doomsday")

Gold ones - like Oberon - get adored and swarmed. At first he is flattered - which young adult wouldn't like to get attention? But he spots the obsessions, the difference between higher and lower caste... their treatment. Gets angry about it. Something festers in him.
So he speaks up.
Which was a mistake, as it happened to be on the day the lower Imperials decided to rise.

Battle happenes, Emperor rises - like in Tidus Bio. Oberon takes part in it, going against the self appointed Higher Imperials. His guard members try to get through to him. Until he snaps out of it and looks, really looks at what is truly happening.
Desperately calls to Lightweaver, turns and flees.

Part Three:

Basically what it already says in his bio. Instead of the upbeat, excitable dragon he had been replaced with a reserved, anxious drake. Flinch at every small noise, nightmares etc.
Being so withdrawn, he doesn't notice much of what happens in the village.
It takes a long time, but Oberon settled back into his former life, and slowly slithered out of his shell, regaining some of his former life. Things were finally looking up.

And then they started to die.
It's not unnatural that dragons die. But those were generally old or sick. Or died in battle. But it didn't stop.
The clan was worrying. Superstition rises.

"His family dwindling, Oberon fled his hometown, terrified. He had connected the deaths, and found only one common denominator- himself. As he searched desperately for an answer as to his bad luck, he reflected on his time in the Guard. To the experiences that had made him so reserved in the first place."

End:

In the end there should be something like a cliffhanger,
what Tidus was seeing when Oberon flees from him: Catman rising, as Tidus is watching - he has another one for his army - focus on the new lesser Emperors light-infused figure (looking like he should belong to the light element - but yet being an abnormal creepy Emperor). Some of light essence from Oberon could have seeped into the shade, and vice versa.

(Omg CATMAN RISING, this has to be the title of his own bio rofl)
