You might think from looking at Aster that she would have a voice like a wren and a laugh like tinkling bells. You might think that she is delicate, gentle, bashful. You would be wrong.

Aster's voice has been known to be heard by the whole clan in times of excitement, to serve as an accidental wake-up call in place of the more gentle morning light. She takes joy in any number of things, and goes out of her way to point cheerful things out to those around her: glimpses of wildlife in their natural habitats, unlikely flowers, a particularly lovely slant of the light or brush of the wind--anything. Her easy happiness and ability to sustain continual, pleasant chatter make her quite popular amongst the quieter and shyer of the clan, though her volume has also put some people off of her. She doesn't make many enemies, however, as it's rather hard to stay mad at someone so loving and understanding.

She has been known to sing whilst out gathering food and herbs alone, and while perhaps it would be poetic for this to attract wildlife, it more often scares them away. Secretly, she wishes they would stick around at least a little bit longer: Aster's big heart completely extends to animals, and the affection isn't often reciprocated. Her familiar is the exception, delighting in the disruption of still moments and often joining her with a chorus of wind. Though it makes her feel a bit better about the lack of deer and sparrows sticking around to twitch their noses at her singing, even her admirers tend to shy away from her during gathering trips--it can be a bit of a chaotic time.

Aster is, despite delicate appearances, neither clumsy nor graceful, walking and flying with purposeful, powerful motions that, like her voice, aren't always quiet and straddle the line between deliberate and spontaneous. Underneath her bright, expansive wings, a close inspection will quickly reveal that any assumptions about Aster being a wispy, delicate flower are, in fact, unfounded. She is solidly built, muscles beyond what one would likely expect from days out in the fields collecting plants. To many in the clan, it's this exact combination of soft and hard which makes her a big sister figure, always willing to listen and laugh along no matter what kind of day you've been having.

She isn't a sister to all in the clan, however. There are a number of dragons for whom it would be hard to have such delusions. Aster flirts the same way she does everything else: she loves it, she's sweet about it, and she's not shy or remotely subtle. An Aster with a crush is an Aster who will not hesitate to point out exactly what she likes. Small, intimate things like the curve of a neck or the way ears twitch when excited, pointed out with the entirety of her genuine smile focused on the recipient. Many a dragon has found herself reduced to blushing and stammering when the patented Aster admiration is focused on her. Especially knowing that Aster means every word of it.
