His Story...

Leon "King" Arkanen, son of Moon, son of Zayit, son of Bright, son of Binary, son of Map, son of Bismuth, son of Vowwyr, son of Frank, son of Colby, son of Pecan, son of Cypher, son of Twilight, son of Charles the first of his name.
First in line, and First of his name, born to the Royal family of Arkanen and heir to the throne, he was once the most chubby hatchling in all of Sornieth. Born adorable, somewhat slow, and a bit too fond of books and music. King has a very slow, studious start to life. He learned to fly late. But impressed all his teachers with his natural gift for words and diplomacy, even for a skydancer, his charisma, and genuine way impressed many of his teachers. His father, though a proud man, tried to not be too hard on his son, but quickly realized, to be the heir to the throne was more then just diplomacy, his son would need to be respected. Fighting and stamina. He toughened up his son anyway he could.
Hoping that when the time came, Leon would no longer by the soft eyed, bookish dragon of his youth.
So it was, when their allies went to war, he sent Leon off to apprentice under his warlord Allie and friend.
War is a strict teacher, and Leon quickly toughened and became less of the youth he had been. Soft paws slowly turned into stone like pads. His once soft face became a scowl. He was no longer a child, and the painful lessons he learned were not just of war. He learned the world was not all like his homeland. The light lands though beautiful, could be terribly cruel. Slavery, starvation, and the evils of the world came as a shock to him. But most of all the difference in his fathers rule, and the rule of this new king he had to follow shocked him. His father was just and true, loyal to his mother, and kind to those who deserved kindness. This warlord did not care about any of the morals Leon held so dear.
Worst of all he was subject to the brutal religious practices of his new home kingdom and learned quickly to hold his tongue and keep his opinions of their practices to himself, questioning nothing, and repressing his own childhood religious faith of the Temples of the Stars.
Still, he was fiercely loyal to his fathers wishes, making him loyal to the Light Lord, and he was treated as one of their own, if not like another son to the lord of the light clan. Only one thing could ever slowly draw his attention away from the royal family he now served and learned from...
A Girl.

Yonah was a beautiful lady of the water, captured in one of their sieges, and of another religion that relied even more on magic than his own, he respected it and thought it was not made for war, but for peace. With her ideas and morals filling his head, and love for her filling his heart, he went away with her, back to his homeland.

though King’s father was disappointed in his son for essentially making off with another dragons “property” as he so gruffly and with great disgust over the sentiment and a soft eye towards Yonah herself, the King explained that though his heir was stupid, they would have no trouble from his allies. No one could match the Arkanen family in the wings of their army, and their ports were too important to trade in all of Sornieth, much less a small portion of a simple Light Warlords Territory.

And so it was, Yonah came to live in Arcane. Where she was free to practice her religion as she pleased, free to love King. When King took over his fathers throne, he insisted on building her the finest temple, he tore down half the bay and remade it to make room for a small island temple devoted to Arcane, Water and any god anyone wished to pay tribute too, so long as they respected Yonah, the high priestess of the Arkanen’s temple and his mate.
It was not long until King and Yonah were wed.


Though a very happy and beloved couple by their people, Yonah prefers the quiet of her island and often hides away. King is definetly the public face of their relationship and the Kingdom general.

King is a most respected and beloved ruler, his reign has been long, prosperous, and mostly peaceful. It has been called the era of knowledge and learning. King founded many colleges, theaters, and trade schools for dragons of all creeds, breeds, and backgrounds.
His wealth has grown exponentially and the Arkanen kingdom is famous for its bustling trade, beautiful shops, and ships and variety of the locals. It is said that the port of the Arkanen is a port blessed by all the gods.





Right where the cliffs begin to get too high to climb without wings, the Castle Arkanan sits proudly in the bay sarrounded by magestic docks for both sea and airships. The Kingdom is tightly inclosed by walls of stone imported from the CrystalSpine Reaches. It glitters and shines in the stormy sunlight. Nestled between the islands off the coast, the bay is mostly protected from storm created by the cold from the Frigid Flows and the wings from the Twisting Crescendo.
The castle boasts a large variety of guests at all times, The Arcane Courts is a place for the greatest minds of Sornieth and the most wealthy. The towns bustling sea life, and easy access from the airships from Air makes it a great travel port and a wonderful vacation spot.
The townsfolk, though mostly made up of Snappers, Obelisks and Skydancers are lively and a very peaceful folk despite their rough sea heritage. Most of the shops have been open for generations, and all speak highly of the Arkanan royalty.
