Personality: Izydor is a plethora of contradictions, depending on who is talking to him. If you are his friend or equal, he treats you with respect, dignity, and even kindness. If you are his family, he will dote on you and shower you in affection such to the point of almost being smothering. But if you are someone he regards as an inferior, more often than not he’ll ignore you outright. An enemy? Well, let’s just say the family man has an extensive vocabulary of spells designed to inflict a maximum amount of pain upon a target… and very few qualms about using them. History: Izydor was one of the very earliest victims of the campaigns by Meltaim’s followers to bring dragons into their ranks from outside the plague flight. His light egg was stolen from the nest long before it was ever due to hatch, and he grew up knowing no other life than to be utterly devoted to Meltaim’s ideologies. Like all of the cultists he learned the art of blood magic, was taught to view anyone who wasn’t one of their number as a dangerous heathen, and by his adulthood was entirely numb to violence and bloodshed. He is a talented magician and a shrewd tactician, and gradually rose through the ranks until he became one of the most high ranking of Meltaim’s followers. He boasts command over a large swath of the group’s membership, and is highly favored by their leader. At one point, he was even selected to raise up a youngster the cult had recently abducted- a very young hatchling by the name of Zuzanna. Though unlike her new “parent” Zuzanna was old enough to remember a life before the cult- if only just barely- being quite a young child she grew to love her father deeply. Izydor loved her in return, confident that the powerful and skilled dragoness would one day step into his role as a leader amongst their people. Things did not, however, go as Izydor envisioned. When she was still adolescent, Zuzanna fell in love with one of the cult’s ritual bleeders and eloped with him. Heartbroken and furious, Izydor begged Meltaim to let him chase after her. It was the second time a child of their number had done so- the first instance had been none other than Meltaim’s own granddaughter- and the imperial decided that it was time to make a statement that her followers could not possibly misinterpret; nobody ever leaves. Nobody. Izydor followed his leader, bringing along one of his own most powerful warriors. The found both Zuzanna and Meltaim’s granddaughter far to the south, in a small clan on the coast of the Icewarden’s territory. Since then, they have waged a quiet but merciless war on Clan Brayuh, determined to destroy them and take back what is rightfully theirs. |
