Born into a Shadow clan, Saya has a devious mind worthy of the Shadowbinder herself.
∙ BACKGROUND ∙

Saya' intense jealousy over her mother's shining beauty led to a falling out between the two of them, and she ultimately left her clan. In a fit of pique, she adopted the name previously used by her mother: "Saya," meaning "Golden Gem" in the ancient Pearlcatcher tongue.
∙ ROLE ∙

Saya's cunning mind makes her an ideal tactician, outsmarting the clan's enemies with ease. Within the clan, though, she seeks to apply her talents to elevate herself above even the clan leader, Zakodan. In particular, she has been pushing her grandson to pursue his claim to the throne as a descendant of the clans' founders.

Upon meeting her mate Sima Kuril for the first time, Saya was impressed with his strength. Between her brains and his brawn, she is certain that they could lead the clan to greatness, if only they had the chance. . .
