Backstory
Beckett's egg was stolen from its nest by a pair of wandering surge priests, but the surge priests were ambushed on their way home by a trio of dragons. Silverhawk, Kaz, and Daen were surprised to find the egg in the surge priests' bags after beating them, and they brought it home with them. When Skylark saw the egg they had brought back, she felt an immediate kinship with it, as she too was an orphan light dragon. She stole the egg from Silverhawk and brought it to her hollow, where she fixed up a makeshift nest and guarded the egg jealously from everyone else until its hatching. When the tiny tundra finally hatched, Skylark named him Beckett and declared that she was his big sister, and nothing anybody said could change her mind. Myria and Ash, as Skylark's adoptive parents, helped her care for Beckett. Skylark showed Beckett the lab, read him books, taught him to read and write, and a million other things. She loves him to death, and he adores her, considering her to be his big sister despite the fact that neither of them know their real parents.
Personality
Beckett has picked up on Skylark's optimism, and is just as happy and friendly as she is, though a bit less chatty. He also enjoys reading, particularly old stories. Despite being a bit forgetful, Beckett has an amazing memory for smells. He and Skylark are practically inseparable: he goes everywhere with her, helps her with her studies, she helps him with his, and he shares a hollow with her and Calliope, Tideshadow, and Sililuuth, who he also views as his older siblings, though to a lesser extent than he does with Skylark.
