Before Nereus is the tongue of Tidelord. Or, so he claims he is. Hailing from the Tsunami Flats and eventually submerging himself permanently in the Shoredeep Presage, Nereus is as eccentric as he is devoted. The insomniac Spiral, a fairly well known Seer, claims to be the last dragon alive that the elusive Tidelord speaks to. His insistence on being the Chosen Seer of the god once fell on skeptic minds; Now that devastation has gripped the populace of the Thousand Currents Sea, people are much more willing to follow along with whatever Nereus says. While not malicious, one has to wonder what exactly Nereus is doing with his bold claims. He's always been known as a trickster just as much as a dedicated follower of his god. Some of his closest friends worry that he's finally cracked. Others think simply that his unwavering worship has finally come in handy. All that's known is something is surely speaking to Nereus... 
Now It's unclear if Nereus is purposefully obtuse or really just incapable of telling when someone dislikes him. Whichever it is, the clairvoyant Spiral claims to be best friends with everyone in The Eleven. He's often seen looping his way through the horns of Pine and Frost, tying himself into bows on Zizir's nose, and spinning circles around Iseult and Iphris. Everyone more or less tolerates him seeing as despite being mildly annoying he is ultimately harmless. Pandora and Nereus can often be found saying gibberish back and forth at each other; Likely this is the Tundra amusing herself with the Spiral's so called "divine blatherings" as she calls them. Interestingly, it is Quarra who seems to be the most genuinely fond of the Seer. The two sleepless dragons often spend the night together talking about anything and everything. Since settling in the Acreron's sanctuary, Nereus' visions and premonitions have become more frequent and more intense. This has Quarra worried in particular, but has not gone unnoticed by Hibernis nor Acreron's own Fiore.
