Papyrus cares quite a bit for his brother. He often lectures Sans about his laziness, hoping that he might listen one day... He knows not of Sans' true power. The arguments he has with his brother tend to be one-sided, however—Sans isn't one to often take things seriously, after all. Sans is right in doing this, though, because Papyrus can't stay mad at his brother for long. Even if he's the younger brother, Papyrus will always protect Sans.
" UNDYNE IS MY MENTOR! SHE'S TEACHING ME THE SKILLS TO BECOME A ROYAL GUARD. I TELL HER EVERY TIME WE HAVE A LESSON THAT I WILL BE THE BEST, MOST FAMOUS ROYAL GUARD. "
Undyne decided to train Papyrus when she saw how dedicated he was. Papyrus considers her to be a good friend, though her rash behavior often worries him. Together, they make an interesting duo. Because Royal Guards are no longer needed on the Surface, Papyrus doesn't train with Undyne anymore. Undyne still teaches Papyrus how to cook, however. Neither of them are very good at it, but that doesn't stop them!
" I DON'T KNOW WHO THIS DRAGON IS, BUT THEY SEEM FAMILIAR SOMEHOW. OH! DOES HE WORK WITH ALPHYS? HE LOOKS LIKE A SCIENTIST. "
Gaster is assumed to be Sans and Papyrus' father/guardian. Papyrus does not remember him, unlike his brother. Ever since Gaster died, Papyrus has been completely unaware that Gaster was ever alive. Being ripped from time and space can really ruin all bonds, can't it?
" METTATON IS SO COOL! I SEE HIM ON T.V. ALL THE TIME. I WANT TO GET TO KNOW HIM BETTER, I LOVE NEW FRIENDS. "
Though Papyrus didn't know Mettaton very well in the Underground, he admired the celebrity. He enjoyed watching Mettaton's show with his brother. He is still a big fan of Mettaton, even on the Surface. Papyrus is starting to become friends with Mettaton because they both hang out with Frisk sometimes. There are rumors that Papyrus might have a small crush on Mettaton, though no one knows for sure.
