Janette

Born and raised in the Junk Pile, Janette is a "queen bee" type of dragon. As Egret's daughter, she has always had a presence in the day-to-day running of the clan, a role that she takes to with gusto. As such, she's not one for exploring, and rarely leaves home.

One notable exception was a trip to the Southern icefields, which resulted in the skydancer returning home with not only a new fur coat, but a mate as well. After hearing story after story about the frozen tundra to the Southwest from Netzel, she had felt a stirring of curiosity. What would a place that starkly different from home be like? No sand, no heat, surrounded by water (that was solid, no less!) She pretended that her interest was simply academic. She wouldn't let anyone think that she was some child that just wanted to go and play in the snow. She had a serious reputation to maintain! But as much as she wanted to dress it up, she had gone on the trip simply because she wanted to see it with her own eyes.

While there, she met another dragon that shared in her curiosity. Together, she and Kae traveled the continent end to end, speaking with the denizens and learning everything they could about the ice. Near the beginning of their journey, the two came across some Gaoler dragons, who were just starting to reintegrate into the wider world of Sorneith. They had with them some Gaoler scrolls, and, feeling a bit of uncharacteristic recklessness, Janette, along with Kae, decided to use the magic and become Gaolers themselves. When Janette eventually decided that it was time to return home, she convinced the partner that she had gotten so close to to come with her. The fur makes living in the desert a bit more of a challenge now, but they're both happy with the outcome of the trip and wouldn't change anything.

Janette is a natural organizer - doesn't matter if it's items, people, or anything in between, if there's a problem, it won't be long before she shows up to smooth things out. This makes her an excellent project manager, and she's usually at the head of whatever big project the clan is working on.

Her need to have everything in its proper place can get a little out of hand, however. She's constantly picking things up and filing them away according to her own system. This puts her at odds with many of the denizens of the Junk Pile, who are, by and large...a little less organizationally-inclined. This includes her mother, who is absolutely one of the worst offenders when it comes to tidiness.
