Biography

I am the queen of the universe. The waves part; they engulf me, and the water is warm...

Nai has known she was part of the Divine ever since she had been born. A glistening hide coated in soft, downy feathers shining with the fire of dawn, and with her very claws she spins liquid life, liquid gold, liquid power; she knows she is Divine, and she is proud. The Coatl adorns herself with gorgeous, burned filigree, twisting all over her crystalline body, and weaves the finest of silks around herself. Her fiery eyes flicker mischievously when she uses her magic, sparks and droplets winding around her claws and wings as she flies and sings, spreading her divine light across all it can touch. Golden magic writhes across her body, ever-changing and always stunning.

Though Nai is far from an only child, she was always quite spoiled. She always demanded the best of the best, and her parents were more than happy to give it to her; however, when the time came for her to be sent away, well... But Nai had taken it in stride, believing her parents merely wanted her to share her beauty and talent with the world, rather than get rid of her. Sylphs all across the land beg to enchant her and protect her, to entangle her in their grasp. She believes they grovel for her, for her divine influence, for her holy glory, but rather instead they wish to take advantage of her egotism and power. She is none the wiser, but has managed to remain untouched... so far. She is just barely tolerated by the clan, who took her in as a hatchling. Some speculate the only reason she is actually kept around is Rosf, for she was his first and only lay - there isn't much in the way of love in the relationship (Nai sees herself too beautiful to be tied down, and she has a personality even the kind Rosf couldn't stand), but there is always a sense of nostalgia in the air when they speak to each other. Others argue that there is no way Rosf could hold that much weight in a clan decision such as that, but when one considered the broken state of their leader... Well, it made it a topic for a different day.

Nai does not have much use in the clan. She sits around, and looks pretty - sometimes, Romus or Cylia will ask to talk to her, and when she exits their dens, she always looks awfully drained. When one asks her why she is so exhausted, she mumbles some sort of excuse before stumbling off, her feathers pale. No one in the clan has the confidence to directly question the two Pearlcatchers about what they are doing to the naive Coatl to make her act so frail.

Her den is littered with baubles and trinkets, and many pieces of never-worn jewelry. Her bedding is made of soft linen and cotton, as she demands nothing but the best.
