MISCHIEVIOUS MATRIARCH

Oath is crisp and collected, like the ice and snow she seems so very fond of. Indeed, it was the ice that first brought her here - never quite satisfied with the already ridiculously cold temperatures, she pressed farther until she reached the Fortress of Ends, where she met Starless entirely by accident. Content to stick with him, her strange mix of icy distance and playfulness keeps peace and order in the clan, without compromising the ever important task of getting things done. Crossing her is usually quite unwise... her playfulness will turn matters into a game of cat-and-mouse - where you're the mouse.

Oath had been playing a nice little game with herself when she happened across this young male and subsequently scared the wits out of him - on purpose, of course.

"What's wrong, handsome?" she teased cooly. The other pearlcatcher, completely at a loss now, was unable to think of any appropriate response given the absurd events of the past minute, and so simply stood up and turned all in one swift motion and began to walk away. "Hey now!" Oath protested, as though there were any reason that the stranger should have stayed and talked to her (there wasn't). Bounding a couple paces to catch up, she followed him.

"I've no idea where you came from or who you are, but I'm not interested," he rambled off, not even turning or breaking stride. "That's no fun though, now is it?" Oath asked innocently. The stranger continued stalking towards wherever he was going; Oath gave up with conversation and contentedly observed the frozen figures they passed. She had to admit, she always went looking for fun but rarely did such efforts result in following some fascinating - and handsome, she ought to add! - stranger back to... somewhere.

They reached a large lair, to Oath's relief - she had, in fact, not rested in several days, and the dens were tempting. "Can I stay here?" she promptly asked. "No," came the equally prompt reply, as it's speaker continued down the passageway. Oath bounded down the hall and past him, planting herself in front of him. "You can't particularly stop me," she challenged, with a sly grin. He stopped and narrowed his eyes. "Of course I could," he countered. "And you should be wiser than to challenge others older and stronger than yourself." Oath tossed her head in the dragon equivalent of eye-rolling. "If you were going to put the effort in, you would have done so long ago." The stranger simply stared her down at this. "Mmm..." Oath mused. "I think you're lonely or something, but don't want to admit it. Bit early for a midlife crisis, wouldn't you say?" she said, finishing with a clearly false note of pity, that was only recognized as playful by the slight expression on her face. The stranger looked away and shoved past her and she grinned, taking up residence in a nearby den as he continued down the passageway, deeper into the lair. This, she thought, is the start to a very interesting adventure.

Posistion: Second-in-Command

Roles:
Oath ensures that everything is running smoothly within the clan. Starless's orders are to be carried out effectively and efficiently, and she's the one who makes it happen. She works out the specifics of his command and follows through to see that things turn out as intended. Oath knows of everything that happens in the clan, and handles most disputes and issues that arise.

Relationships:
Oath is mated to Starless. She is surprisingly motherly towards clanmates, especially the younger ones, and is respected and loved by the whole clan. Oath is always trusted to perk up a mood with a well-placed joke, but also handle situations with calculating seriousness.

Personal Items:

Oath hoards these statues for "no particular reason", although it is widely believed that it's due to a vain streak, given the striking resemblance and reference to a rather cat-like personality. When questioned, she once said, "I feel like I can relate to them... they're a little spooky, dontcha think? I wiiillll admit they're gorgeous."

"These are special piles of snow," Oath insists. Leave it to somedragon as snow-obsessed as her to have an uncanny ability in picking out the particular kind of snow that Jarvis accepts during the yearly Crystalline Gala. Luckily, she is happy to part with her collection for the good of the clan, saying that she enjoys rebuilding it each year and that "it was probably taking up too much space anyways".
