- ives's firstborn
- he always had the idea to sent his kids away as wards to protect the clan via alliance
- it took him until the first litter were adults to secure one
- a light queen who wanted a warlord's daughter as a lady's companion and a trinket for her saloon
- a ship was sent to fetch stoja, but it was intercepted by nature pirates on the way back to the ruins

- shares a room with ember, who joined the clan at the same time post war and is equally traumatized

the brine in stoja's mouth and the smoke in her lungs were the sweetest thing she had ever tasted.

she laughs, presses her cheek to the soft sand of dragonhome's shore, and rolls over with her arms spread. a few dozen seagull startled at her movement, but a lone survivor wasn't enough to scare them from the burnt wreckage and feast strewn about her.

oh, the world had ended, and the flamecaller had ravaged the labyrinthian fleets even as they fled, but for the first time fortune had taken her hand. she was free.

stoja laughs until she coughs, for the irony of it all, then rises and turns her gaze homeward south
