Nobody really knows why his mate left the clan but everyone could see he was agonizing over it. Fortunately an imperial hatchling came with similar colors as his own and found him familiar (Because of the colors? Because of the genes? Nobody will uncover that secret now) so she stuck with him for almost everything. They slowly became close to each other and formed a pair together.

Kaze still visits the new clan of Whisper regularly, but they never meet face to face. Kaze only wants to see the female is healthy and lives a happy life. He now has a new mate, young and fragile (or so he thinks) and feels responsible for the beautiful imperial. He feels deep love for both females, but can no longer imagine a romantic partnership with anyone but Kaizu.

Fun fact (from the Random Dragon Facts forum thread)

1. His accent seems to be ticklish and furry looking, but is made of tiny little icicles. Cuddling him is a soft, but really cold (almost freezing) feeling.

2. He has a permanent partner right next to him. They are young and they don't know many others from the clan (yet), but they arrived together from different clans and became friends really fast. By the time his girl-friend matured they found themselves in a deep romantic relationship. (referring to Whisper, who has since left the clan)
