KnockOut is the loving mate of Emberglow, the matron in charge of the Forgelight Inn, and when he is not fulfilling his role as courier, he's right by her side helping her maintain their large, prosperous establishment. Whether its sharing witty, funny and wild anecdotes with anyone who will listen, or showing off all the tricks his owlcat can do, KnockOut is one of those merry souls happiest around others. If it weren't for his wind-dragon heritage (and the understandable speed-boost that comes with this), there would be more than one dragon on the island who wondered why he was away from home so often. How did he get his name, you ask? Well, it started off as an incident during his hatchling days. already an adept flyer, small as he was KnockOut was always raring to go and never lost an opportunity to fling himself up into the air to test out the strength of his wings. His ability to change directions was not on par with his enthusiasm levels, and he crashed right into one of the massive paper lanterns in the twisting crescendo, knocking out one of his baby teeth. The nickname "Knock Out!" stuck, though as he's gotten older it's begun to apply for different reasons. His mate calls him Knock. Though proud of all of his offspring, KnockOut finds himself somewhat overwhelmed with the recent developments of his daughter, Keahi. It was with great pride that he listened to Angakuq, the Clan's witch doctoress, speak of Keahi's great potential and her untapped ability as a fighter. Born with a brighter flame than the rest, it was clear that Keahi was destined for bigger things. And would need a bigger body to fulfill that destiny. Now, Emberglow and KnockOut have a Wildclaw daughter who dwarfs them in every possible way; there's a bit of a language barrier now that wasn't there before, as she has lost her tell-tale head crest, but they're adjusting. |
