"We look up at the same stars, yet see so different things..."

Once upon a time, a star fell from the sky.

He fell with fiery sparkles in his wake, arcing across the night sky as if desperate to cut it apart. His fall lit up a small corner of the vast darkness and caught the attention of the stargazers within the Observatory. They rushed outside, taking to the sky to chase the shooting star -- to no avail. The star fell too fast and too far for mere dragons to catch up, and before they could lay a claw on it, it dropped abruptly, hurtling towards the ground at terminal velocity.

Had the star landed on the ground, he would've been smashed into a grease spot. As it was, he plunged into Starwind Bay with a massive splash to rival the greatest of the divers. The stargazers fluttered over to the banks of the bay, circling his glowing trail. They thought he was dead, for science had taught them the fate of any hot object that collided with a cold body of water. They waited patiently, and when small bubbles signified the ascent of an unconscious hatchling, they took it upon themselves to carry it to safety.

The star was half-dead by the time they brought it back, and nothing -- not even warmth -- was able to bring it back from the brink. Desperate to save this fallen star, the stargazers turned to the mages of Arcane, and pleaded them to save the life of this hatchling. The mages relented, and casted their spell. The hatchling gasped, and opened his eyes.

He remembered nothing; knew nothing, and was uncomprehending of the questions asked. His mind was a blank slate, and nothing the mages did could kick-start his memory files. Unable to do anything about his amnesia, the mages decided to raise him, as they had raised so many before him. They told him stories of the stars, and taught him their magic, so that he would learn to wield it wisely, and only when necessary.

When he was of age, the fallen star chose a name for himself and set off into the brand new world in search of adventure.

He called himself Pisces, the One Brought Back to Life.

Pisces is silent and reserved, and prefers to spend most of his time in the library, where Vespera is forever worrying that he'll burn a hole in the ground and incinerate all her books. He plays along well enough with others when he has to, but often finds their presences annoying, especially when it comes to his more harebrained clanmates, who unfortunately make up over ninety percent of the clan. Thankfully, Pisces has a hold on his fiery power, and hasn't charbroiled any of his clanmates yet.

The only dragon Pisces pays attention to is Aquarius, and often aids her in her research to seek the origins of the strange blue magic that brought the fall of the stars in the first place. They've also created a magical detection system to alert them of any other falling stars, in hopes they they could catch one before it lands, and before its memory burns away. They have yet to succeed, but they're still trying.

Unlike other fallen stars, being revived by mages gave Pisces the ability to harness magic, though often times this magic is unstable and tends to turn his clanmates into pineapples. The only time Pisces is allowed to use magic is during battles, preferably not within a twenty-meter radius of his clanmates, and nowhere near the lair. The clan just finished rebuilding the lair after he turned it into gelatine, and while have unlimited Jello wasn't all that bad, the fact remains that he had the nerve to make it coconut-flavoured.
