A wizard to the core, Darkling was long ago influenced by the pull of dark magicks and the arts of shadows. He lives very isolated, working on his mysterious experiments for days - or even weeks. He's rarely seen and he displays a very distant facet when with others. However, it's clear as day that he deeply respects Madrigal and a few chosen other clan members, usually fellow magic users. He's particularly fond of the clan's former Librarian, Feroxia. When neither dragon is busy they can be seen discussing the most obscure fields of magical knowledge. Other dragons, the curious scholars and magic users, tend to join in.

These days, Darkling has become even more withdrawn. He's become twitchy and has nervous ticks that worry Feroxia and those that know him better.

'They call him Darkling, and smile at him. He watches the corners of their lips lift with practised familiarity and mimicks their gestures. There is a fountain of memories within him, which he accesses easily. It feels natural to be here, yet the body that holds him is also... strangely distant, as if he's looking at it from a distance. He looks at the mirrors that display his reflection and stares.
This is who you are. These colours and this darkness and this hidden brightness; these stained claws and worn-out wings. This is you, since forever. Remember?
Yes, Darkling remembers. He remembers, but not quite. Because, as he stares at the mirror, even if for a second, there is a strange sense that he's looking at a stranger and not himself - and it terrifies him.'
