Biography
Ottawa stumbled into Loam's Lair during a terrible blizzard. She was nearly cut to ribbons. Several dragons immediately clamored to have her thrown back out again. They were frightened at her broken body, her coloration that screamed to their senses that she could not be trusted.
Loam shut them down immediately. Her mate, Brian, had rarely seen Loam so livid. While she raged at those dragons who wanted this unconsious dragon thrown out into the dark to die, Brian, Cosmo, and Rogue got the new dragon inside and started warming her and stitching her.
She drifted into consciousness for a few moments during the night, and Rogue slipped outside unnoticed and came back with a bloodied, shivering Kamaitachi who immediately curled up beside the tattered wildclaw.
Loam and Brian could never get Ottawa's full story, but she made herself useful by hunting with Cosmo. She even had regular nests of hatchlings, who she raised to be virtuous and spiritual dragons. Many of them left the Lair early to seek out service with the Diety Dragons, earning Ottawa respect and acceptance in the Lair.
Only the most perceptive dragons noticed she was unnervingly calm whenever her hatchlings emerged from their shells. And only the wisest of those dragons guessed the calm hid warring emotions for each birth.
And only Brian and Rogue saw that facade crack on an early spring day, and they could only guess as to the glimpse of shock followed by relief she displayed as her newest son was born.
A son who the Lair came to call TheTaint.
