Io

Io was an unlikely hatch, from an unlikely pair, on an unlikely day. His hatch heralded the start of a new year, and the unlikeliness of him being an imperial rather than a fae like his father, gave the clan a sense of good things to come. Perhaps it's coincidence, perhaps it's fate, but Io has always been surrounded by good luck, from the day he was born. While the clan never struggled before, it really started flourishing after he was born.

While his mother did try her best to be present in his life, Io was mostly raised by his father who simply wasn't as busy as his mother was when it came to clan matters. Unfortunately, his father wasn't necessarily regarded as "good with kids." He would frequently leave Io unattended at times, and even get into arguments with him at ages he couldn't possibly understand what exactly was being argued. This led to Io idolizing his mother and as such, Io has always wanted to impress her, and often felt as if he was competing for her attention with her duties with the clan.

It was only when he went out to train with a friend, and his friend almost got hurt did Io realize that there was a more important reason to be a strong warrior to his clan than just to impress his mother. Since then, Io started taking up more and more responsibilities to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the clan.

Even though his mother is almost always quite busy, she has grown very proud of her son who has started doing even more for the clan than her.

Sometimes, when they all have coinciding freetime, Io and Andromeda will all lay down together and relax after a long day. Not a word is exchanged between them, but they don't feel as if they need to. They are content to simply bask in each other's company.


Personality: As the beloved son of the esteemed Andromeda, Io feels as though he has a lot to live up to within the clan. He often takes up to his duties in an over-serious and over-zealous fashion, very often pushing himself very hard to make sure that not only all the work gets done, but that it's also done to his highest standard.

Due to his nonchalant and serious nature, other dragons in the clan have a hard time knowing how to best approach him, especially when sarcasm and jokes tend to go right over his head. Some dragons will occasionally mistake his seriousness for aloofness and assume that he doesn't care, when they couldn't be further from the truth. Io is one of the dragons who probably cares the most about the well being of his clan, and everyone in it. He just has a hard time expressing that sentiment through any way other than hard work and dedication.
