For so long, everything has been freezing all around Hyun. They've tried to make him forget, just like all the others have forgotten, but he's different. He's heard them say how it's due to his Plague blood - "It's what they do, survive!" Hyun doesn't care about the opinions of others, however, and instead thanks whatever it is that keeps his memories his own instead of theirs, and yerns to survive to see the end of them all. "They" are the Coven, a large underground organization of witches, and Hyun has been their slave for countless of years. Shackled and bound, he is unable to escape his captors, for while he has his own personality and mind still intact to realize what happens around himself, his body does not cooperate with him at all times. The witches have bound him with magics that he can't possibly even dream to break by himself, so instead he plans to outlive them all. While the Coven hosts a large population of actual servants on top of the countless slaves that take care of the less meanial tasks, Hyun has never been allowed to even imagine of becoming a dragon with such stature. He's been called "The Indomitable Will" enough times that the older witches have learned to be cautious around him, minding what they say and how they say it, because Hyun, unlike all the other slaves, will remember everything. For now, Hyun serves, growing his hatred towards the witches and their magic, while plotting and planning for the day he gets his revenge against them and their precious "Mistress".

. There is no greater pain that Hyun wishes on anyone on Sornieth than the pain he wishes on Rhayeen. A leading warrior witch in the Coven, she was responsible for capturing Hyun when he was still in his teens, and she brought him as a trophy to the Coven, initially to be put to work as just as another slave. Their fight was unfair and bloody, and Rhayeen enjoyed every minute of beating Hyun into submission. Hyun will never forget and never forgive for what she's done to him - neither about all the offenses against him that she's been responsible for since his capture. Whenever Hyun has the chance and is able to, he opposes Rhayeen publicly, even though he'll always pay a dear price for such insubordination. Hyun is however adamant that the day will come when he's able to pay her back tenfold.

. For Hyun, his life as a slave in the Coven has been filled with abuse and torment especially thanks to one particular witch - Monaira, the First Favourite of the Mistress, the mysterious witch who leads the Coven. One of the most dangerous witches of the Coven, Monaira quickly found Hyun's unwavering spirit to be the perfect target of her games and manipulations. This led Hyun to become one of her many "playthings", as others would like to call the unlucky individuals who Monaira pours all her leftover energy into. Hyun has realized how much fun Monaira has trying to crack his steely will, and he's ashamed and enraged that she's managed to find his weakness...

. ...the talented scrier of the Coven, and one of the Four Favourites, Thirlmere. For such a long time Hyun believed that Thirlmere's weak conversation starters and many tries to connect with him by giving him food or showing kindness in other ways were just another type of Monaira's new strategies to get inside his head, and he admits in hindsight that he was horrible and aggressive towards her at the start. In the end however Thirlmere's hard work paid out, and Hyun began to believe that Thirlmere and her actions were genuine, and she was actually interested in making a friend out of him. The longer they've known each other the better Hyun understands that Thirlmere doesn't condone much of anything that happens in the Coven, but that her mind is actually muddled, just like the many slaves have their minds muddled, and that the Mistress is controlling her without her knowledge. Hyun begun to aggressively force his own agendas on her, to make her save his fellow slaves before they turned into icy workers without any possibility of regaining their past selves. Deep down, beyond his will to admit it, he garners the first sign of strange kind of warmth inside him towards Thirlmere, and sometimes can't stop thinking about her. It is due to this reckless kind of behaviour that Monaira found out that they have a connection, and chooses to torment him even more frequently because of it.

. While Hyun believes his and Rhayeen's relationship is personal and that he should be the one to get revenge on the warrior witch above any other dragon, it was actually the Mistress's powers that bound him in the way that he couldn't escape from the Coven. Hyun can't remember Mistress' face - only her shrillingly calm and gentle voice with which she spoke to him, explaining how the binding magic would affect him all the while he felt how his limbs began to freeze and grow numb. It is because of the Mistress that Hyun's body is forced to obey orders from any witch of the Coven, and it is also because of Her that he is unable to walk away from the Coven. There is a very special kind of death that Hyun wishes upon Her, but it is a thought he rarely lets enter his mind, for he's sure that Monaira would find it and make him suffer for it.

Hyun is rebellious, bitter and above all, very strong willed. He's lived under the most horrible conditions for such a long time now, but still he persists on surviving to another day, to another tomorrow. Nothing in his years of slavery have given him any hope of things getting better or that he'd have any chance of breaking free, but there's nothing that will make him just sit and accept his fate. When he dreams, he dreams of freedom - to himself mostly, but also to his fellow slaves, far weaker willed than himself, who rarely survive long enough for Hyun to remember their names. In his dreams he also sometimes sees a beautiful skydancer female, who looks at him with light green eyes as if for the first time, and sometimes Hyun wishes he'd never wake up from such dreams.
