Obo is one of those dragons who's so blinded by his dream that he won't take no for an answer. In this case, Obo dreams only of flying. As a child, Obo never quite got the hang of flying with his own wings, and ended up hurting his wings badly enough in a fall that they are permanently crippled, leaving him unable to fly on his own. While many dragons have tried methods both medical and magical to cure this, nothing has worked yet, but Obo is nothing if not determined. He accepts that he won't fly under his own wings, but he'll be damned if he can't find some other way to fly.

Upon arriving at clan Semper Victor, he very quickly fell in with Devlin and the engineers, and presented them with his ideas for building some sort of flying machine. Never a group to pass up a challenge, the engineers have now joined in Obo's quest of granting flight to the flightless. After a lengthy period of designing and testing different miniatures, a visit the airship belonging to Sharp's clan brought new ideas and directions for the operation, as they have a working example to base their designs on, though Obo is determined that the airship is far too slow and that a flying machine made for dragons should be able to soar like a dragon.
