✘✘✘ When the clan found him, sitting by the water as a massive stony monolith, they thought that surely he was trapped in the masses of Gembond that grow over him. Racing back to fetch a healer, they returned nervously. Carnotite rumbled a quiet greeting and suddenly shifted, stones grinding against each other as he pulled in a fishing line they'd not noticed. They watched as he hauled in the massive fish and dealt with it swiftly, before casting out his line again and returning to perfect stillness.

He was invited to live with the clan, and lent his services as a master fisherman. Carnotite turned down offers to help maintain his rather overgrown Gembond, insisting that so long as he can get to the water and back, he would be fine. Instead, he asked a stonemason to drill several indentations in the stone, which he uses to hold multiple fishing poles.

He sits by the water, poles poking out like the branches of a great tree, perfectly still, and perfectly content in his own thoughts.
